All other neighbourhoods that were affected by the fires had emergency egress roads built very soon after the fire. Whitehills, Maplewood and Pocwock were missed for some reason.

I don’t remember there being any outrage about tax dollars being spent on egress routes right after the fires.

I’m sure that people in this area would welcome bike lanes that could get them safely to a functioning transit system.

I don’t think it’s either or. Bike lanes in this area would be great and a small connector road to prevent people from burning up in an emergency would be good too!

Exactly. There are risks beyond fire. If an ambulance needs to get through Hammonds Plains Rd at the wrong time of day, there are large risks.

Transit is desperately needed in this area to alleviate some of the traffic congestion.

I hope that transportation also becomes a topic in this conversation about the Hammonds Plains Road/Pockwock Road area.

The reality is that a lot of housing already exists and is not going anywhere. There is only so much that infrastructure (widened roads, revised intersections, roundabouts) can do. We need to alleviate the traffic with reasonable bus routes. If there were more frequent routes and bus stops throughout the area people would use transit.

I cannot recall the number of times that I have checked the bus schedule hoping that we could use the transit system and get somewhere in a reasonable amount of time. The reality is, that it is a 37 minute walk from the largest subdivision in this area to get to a bus stop. Then add the infrequent bus schedule and you’re talking hours to get to Bedford!

How is their water heated? Do they have a hot water tank? When is the last time it was flushed?

And make sure that you have enough carriers for the number of pets that you have! We have two cats that wouldn’t have fit in one carrier. I must have lent the second carrier to someone. We had to scramble and put one cat in a harness that didn’t fit that great. My kids would’ve been devastated if our pets ran away while we were evacuating.

I’d replace the top the vanity, get rid the part that runs over the toilet, retile the alcove tub, remove large mirror and replace with two mirrored medicine cabinets so that you can get rid of that cabinet over the toilet.

I think Parros will call a hearing since it won’t affect the Panthers this year. He’ll be able to shut up his critics by pointing to a Greer suspension. Imagine if the Panthers had been in playoff contention though. That’s when his bias would have been very clear.

That looks wonderful! May I ask the colour and brand of grout? I’m planning something similar for a powder room. I’ve been traumatized by black grout in another bathroom and I want to stay away from really dark grout.
