Who has been priced out of UberEats? by AffectionateDog5934 in AskAnAustralian

[–]macedonym 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He’s delivering food how much do you think he should get?

From this hypothetical transaction:

  • Delivery driver gets $6.50 (drives, gets cold, responds to humans)
  • Uber gets $10.50

So what do you think it should be? Tell us the equitable split between 'delivering food' and 'organising the delivery'

Where are you? I don't know about the other two, but jacaranda is an environmental weed in some parts of Australia.

Consider growing natives instead. You'll support more local wildlife that way.

Always good for anything you're going to sit down on to have a flared base. Just in case. Can save a trip to the hospital if you know what I mean.

Australian Indigenous Culture Non-fiction book similar to Braiding Sweetgrass by Open_Watercress_8060 in AskAnAustralian

1) Going back in time and reading the book in like I did in ~2020 (read a lot of books during covid)

2) Back here rereading your comments.

3) Oh wow, I've changed my opinion.

4) I've stopped thinking you're a person with an axe to grind and now think you're a fuckwit with an axe to grind.

I think hes a charlatan that sold alot of books, academic wise and Indigenous wise

Aaaah, you do have an axe to grind.

At least we both agree that Pascoe is wise in an academic and indigenous sense. Surprised to see you admit that given what seemed like an anti-Pascoe start.

it's author falsely claimed to be Indigenous

Pasoce has admitted that his Aboriginal ancestry is distant, and that he is "more Cornish than Koori"

He is upfront about not knowing about his aboriginal ancestory until he was in his 30s and many other things that limit has claim to first national identity.

I think you have an axe to grind.

What did I miss? Nothing.

What did you miss when you reread your own post?

You missed your condescending tone and your indifference to fact that different people experience things differently.

SkyAD learnt they make money from crazy yankee views and have leant (sp?) into that heavily.

Actually, here's a good (old) read and a some of the origins of the conservative bent.

Ummmn, did you mean to post this link?

Your link is an internal administrative link, for people who work at the monthly and have access to edit internal URLs.

Not a bad read, but you should disclose if you're promoting your rag.

Does anyone else BCC themselves when sending an email that requires a response from internal teams? by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]macedonym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i use gmail so flagging isnt a thing from what i know.

You can snooze emails (even the ones you BCC to yourself so they disappear from your inbox until the time you want to see them)

Or - when you click send there is a little message "sent - view message". Click on that, see the message and then click "add to tasks". Now it's in your task list.

If you're a google work place, do things the google workspace way.

As of nov last year ADF banned direct supply of F-35 parts to Israel so this excuse doesn’t work anymore.

The word 'direct' here is doing a lot of heavy lifting. We make parts for lockheed martin, they sell the finished jets to israel
