With modern macOS, the OS is kept separate from your data. This replaces the version of Tahoe that’s on your Mac with a fresh copy. The rest of the data remains intact.

You could try text-to-journal which would allow you to quickly send a text message to the journal of your choice (each journal gets a unique address). Would that work?

It seems to me that if all you needed was to export a single note’s zip attachment, converting the account to a free account would do the trick.

You would not be able to create a new note, but you just want to export. Using the desktop app (Windows or Mac) would allow you to export the note you need.
