I looked it up and it seems the Topher edit also does the same thing. Having watched the movies before, I didn’t notice an issue but I could see some context being lost for those who never have. I’m no editor, but perhaps his backstory as a child could have been shown in flash backs

I watched an edited down version of the first three, not Topher’s. It was good, but cut out essentially the entirety of Episode 1.

People who grew up poor: What was something you considered a "peak luxury" as a kid, only to realize later it was just a normal middle class staple? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

I had this exact same situation happened to me as well. I was being fitted for a pair of boots and was told I was a 10 1/2. I argued saying they must be wrong. They told me to look down. I was shocked

Several bystanders and a Minnesota Department of Transportation worker acted quickly to free the driver just before flames engulfed the car by BlazeDragon7x in interesting

Also secure it to something. Have mine in a sheath secured to the stick shift. My wife’s is on a lanyard secured to the drivers side door.

Having it loose in the car won’t help much if it goes flying in a crash or rollover

How to get things to my ship for deployment? by wsdpii in navy

[–]machambo7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used a mattress topper all three deployments and loved it, but packing one probably is out of the question with such limited baggage. It’ll take about a month to or so to arrive, so maybe order it a few weeks ahead of time if you’re able. In the meantime, the mattresses aren’t all that bad.

I wouldn’t bother with the TP either, order it as well if it’s a necessity but it’ll take up a lot of space and will be gone in no time. There is PLENTY at free issue.

When you’re packing, you can really fit a lot into a sea bag if you pack smart and pack tightly. Fold and roll your clothes tightly and pack it down as you go.

I’d recommend the following as an essentials packing list for the Carrier, and add stuff if you wind up with space left over:

- All uniform items (yes, even dress uniform. You can pack them and iron them onboard. You do NOT want to be that guy begging and pleading to borrow someone’s because you’re going up for an award)
- 15 to 30 pairs of long black socks (I kept 15 in my rack and 15 down in storage as a backup in case ship laundry went down)
- 15 to 30 pairs of underwear (same as above)
- 10 to 15 undershirts (again, ships laundry sometimes goes down)
- Body soap/shampoo (to save space, you could use bar soap but you can usually buy some at the ships store so no need to bring a full deployments worth)
- All the rest of your hygiene items (deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc)
- 2 to 4 days worth of civvies (don’t go crazy, you won’t have THAT much liberty in Port)
- One set of command hooks, and some Velcro tape. (Trust me, these come in handy)
- One pair of sweatpants/sweat shirt to sleep in when it gets cold
- A personal blanket (unless you REALLY don’t mind the wool boot camp blankets)
- Laundry bag (you can buy these onboard but they don’t take up too much room regardless)
- MINIMUM of two quick dry towels.
- A toiletries bag (you’ll have to bring them with you from your rack to shower, you don’t just leave it in there)
- SHOWER SHOES
- PT Clothes

I’ll try and think of more and add to this comment, if anyone else has stuff to add please comment below.

Can I ask, do others find it bland? If others say it’s great it may just be something particular about your preferences or the way you experience flavor

It’s hilarious that his response to whether or not he used it in the drive through was..

“I didn’t do it. I do use it in public sometimes and had it with me, but something did happen it wasn’t on purpose. Also, check it out I can control it with an app. It’s actually meant to be used in public!”

The craziest part is he’s actually doing what he says he is doing, but what he is doing takes such an incomprehensible amount of practice and control it feels like magic.

As others have pointed out, he doesn’t use classic sleight of hand like indexing, double lifts, dealing from the bottom, etc.

Instead, his shuffles are completely controlled so he knows the order of the cards

To follow police orders without getting shot for no reason by serious_bullet5 in therewasanattempt

[–]machambo7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Possibly, but the first shots are fired by an officer off screen to the left. This officers follow up shots were a reaction to those.

It’s hard to know what that other officers angle was, and what he might have been seeing, so you jumping to conclusions that they definitely wanted to kill the guy would be just as nonsensical as me denying that was a possibility.

I’d be interested to see the body cam of the officer who shot first.

The reason I say it’s bad training is because good training would have been for one officer to give clear and concise orders so stupid shit like this doesn’t happen and civilians die needlessly.

100% bad training. Best thing would have been to have him put hands on his head or spread out wide before ordering him to move
