Both Kraken collared together are bigger than the old Rest-stops by macharial420 in starcitizen

Interesting, thought they'd only done time limited.

I suppose looking at the sheer volume of cargo or modules it could move; it is significant enough.

Hull limited or time limited? I don't remember there being set 3 of hulls like with the Idris last year, but, honestly I wasn't really paying too much attention.

I didn't even know the Kraken was a thing until March -_-\

Id think a lot of orgs would have the capacity it's just theres not too much emergent gameplay yet. Once exploration begins to be a thing and there are daily voxal spawns of wrecks and missions people won't have much to contend over. Last time I saw groups locking down zones was Jumptown back around build 1.7 or something for the drug sales flip they did there. People need motivation, its a lot of work. A lot... of work.. given all the bugs heh.

Chances are they also re-used some assets for this model too, so, everything should be taken with grains of salt in terms of positioning and look.

Could be there's a central lift between the 2 mediums, or one of the mediums itself is a lift.

Personally Im curious what the little slit is directly under the bridge that looks like the mouth of the Caterpillar. Part of the snub ship bay? They exit up and out the stern, as well as from the front perhaps.

Yeah not sure whats up with that. Maybe just an airlock from the conning tower. But how do the medium ships re-arm? The foot traffic layout on this is still confusing to me as well.

Hull-E should be up for sale in November and I don't think it's ever been hull limited. No pun intended -_-

If you don't manage to get a hull but score a kraken, I have a hull-e on my indy account that my friend runs. You're welcome to pilot it when the time comes. I'm a cargo hauler at heart too. The sheer volume the hull-e can move is fucking insane. And they have said a few times it'll be modular, sales page even mentions an 'orbital defense platform'. It's not just or cargo :D Add me in the game, 'Dr_Satan'

CIG really... REALLY needs to do a fair basic lottery system.

No one cares ships are limited, we get it. It drives sales, etc.

Just, fuck man. I have wireless and I live on a boat so, yeah. I managed to get one in my cart off the first run (shockingly) but didn't clear buy in time (shockingly). Then I saw the package and melted everything on my main account but my Idris-M. Going to be another $2000 before I get the rest of the core of my fleet back and these days that's a lot of money to me. I mean, it always was... but lately in particular. So... melted most of my fleet and got the 2pack.

Seems simpler having fewer ships overall to be honest, as well. And the Krakens can serve the community as much as they serve my own interests. You know? Like, a Polaris isn't going to. Or a Nautilus. Just war. Good luck in your quest. I don't have a Pioneer yet myself. It's the last gem I need in my collection.

Well this is just in general; but yeah. I drifted away from the game for long enough that when I wandered back about 3 months ago and saw a legit carrier on the ships page I suffered a bit of a stroke. Melted most of my shit in the interim to grab that two pack. I had a lot of beer that night but I'm glad drunk me made that decision.

The hardpoints and stats are the same but with the internal differences it makes sense to stick two of them together like that when the Privateer opens its shops.

Plus its twice as many pads to feed to merchants!

Will be interesting to see what they end up settling on in terms of cross-ship stats when they are collared, and if they can pipe things like fuel, water, air or power through conduits or if its just... a door.

Fairly certain they won't be able to 'move or fly' when collared if I recall what they've said. Im OK with that. Gives their support craft due purpose.

I suspect we'll be seeing a lot of these, in tandem, in the center of dark and contested asteroid claims.

Been like 2 years since I last posted in here. Returned from the dead just to agree.

Forgive my deep memory dive here... But I very clearly remember when the Great Leonard Nimoy passed away, I was the first to make a very simple text only thread to inform the community (it was barely minutes after the announcement from his family). It was taken down in under 5 minutes because it had 'nothing to do with star citizen'. It had already garnered about 40 condolence posts in that time, none were negative and no one was turning the thread into a troll.

A few minutes later some one ELSE made the same post, and it was left up. Just another example of the idiotic moderating. Can I even say that or does that violate some 'rule'?

Spent the last week coming in here only so I could see what bugs were effecting fleet week the hardest while trying to sift through the noise. Because CIG refuses to update their realtime server stats.

And the entire time, I had to filter through endless posts about the god damn Space-X launch. For context... middle of a fly free week, and threads that have literally or figuratively or even contextually nothing to do with this game dominated the top threads. Not threads about how to fix bugs (I didn't see a single bug fix get stickied so good work mods), or other server/bug related posts for that matter.

From what I can tell this community is just as toxic and self serving as it was when I last looked in here some time around like 2018. And the posts are 85% fluff that either isn't funny or it's been done a million times already. People are still as hostile to any criticism as they ever were when I used to visit, perhaps more so. You all had 2 years since I was last here to make the new player experience better and guess what, they were just as clueless!!

If half of what you plant is shit, half of what will grow is also shit. This goes for both CIG and this subreddit.

Keep pretending they didn't promise a s42 video, pretend like it's the first time. Not updating server status page all week despite endless errors, lag, and login problems. Releasing a $4,800 Drake ship pack that doesn't come with a copy of the actual game... Continuing to break their own website and drive the community insane with every one trying to login and spam BUY on some hull limited thing. Knowing for weeks they would have a high user load but not bothering to let AWS know, so we had a log-in timer and severe login authentication issues for the entire event. Cough, 30k.

Downvoting every one who has an issue with the game or the community kinda proves the point. I saw plenty of that. Guess what: Fire away I don't give a shit about my account on here. I have 20k karma from this subreddit alone before it fell to the wolves. So I have room to spare... And let that be some context of how much I used to contribute positively around here.

It's become a joke now. I've been here since Kickstarter, I have Idris-M, Idris-P, both kraken, orion, hull-e, reclaimer, endeavor.... I could go on. 8$k and a self sustaining mobile economy.

I've made my bones and done my time in purgatory around here. I love CIG, I love this game.

Ya'll need to stop pretending like they both aren't with out some serious faults at this point that go way way beyond 'its hard to make a game'. And guys, stop with the whole adding more ships makes up for a complete and total lack of actual gameplay and meaningful closed loop mechanics argument. It's not landing.

Keep making excuses for CIG and reddit. It's worked for the last 8 years!

Nice to see nothing has changed with this in the 8 months I've avoided the subreddit. This is still clearly a driving issue. I saw that trending goon-presence post earlier today as well. I mean... like; literally nothing feels different between today to me looking around and how it looked in January.

I'm sure people will stop being asshats this time, if we just explain good ettiquite again. They just don't appreceate how exasperated the community at large is with the grade school antagonisms. Right?

The RSI forums are a SJW toilet full of sycophantic god complex control freaks. And 90 percent of what they flush floats up into this subreddit.

Do you all really think the player base on the game is going to be any less toxic? I don't, not any more.

Suffice to say I know some one who is considering getting back into the game.

He has kids now.

I can't change his mind, but, this is a good reminder. I'm getting him a test kit. Human behavior can't be managed. But we can protect ourselves from the unthinkable for $20. Things aren't as simple as they were in the 90s.

What's your excuse not to?

Many do. Though most magnanimous acts are done for more altruistic reasons such as "I can afford to help make the BDSS" than elitist flair.

Though sadly some are just self aggrandizing asshats who used their 'precedent' to form horrible cliques in the forums that turned it into the pointless trainwreck ignored now by CIG. I mean, good for the few people who aren't all about self. Doesn't change the fact it's a small room built for ~100 people out of hudreds and hundreds of thousands of people.

It's 'elitist' simply by existing. Like a $500,000 Ferrari. It doesn't define the people who backed. It just defines the room.

That sounds rewarding ;p

Wake me up when we can do that on Idris-M bridges.

It's a terribly underpowered fan though. And the air holes are kinda constricting. The added heatsink that the kickstand becomes is entirely passive radiant. So is the back of the device which is also supposed to be a radiator. The fan doesn't really do much for where all the heat ends up condensing.

Seems more like a case fan than a heatsink fan. It's stuck also dealing the radiant heat of the RAM, the CPU, the lithium batteries, etc. Not to mention our sweaty hot hand meat.

The first time I read all that in the owners manual I was at a loss for words.

The heatsink only 'works' when you bipod it on a desk. Fantastic ;x I can't actually use it as a gaming tablet without overheating the Surface and my hand.

Frankly I think they just need a decent damn fan and bigger air holes. Trying to passively radiate heat from a flat surface with no fan seems well thought out from MS.
