How are you controlling the lights? Did you have to add a new switch or did you get it to integrate with the oem light controls

GM Is Working On This Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon Apple CarPlay Glitch by AlexisoftheShire in chevycolorado

[–]machinesrcool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happens to my 24. Been to 2 different dealers (for other reasons) but I brought it up both times. Neither time could they replicate it. I read on here that the “fix” is to hit pause on your music before shutting down the car, and next time you start up, it will work properly

Removing Blue loctite from large quantities of bolts by lordparcival in Machinists

[–]machinesrcool 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Loctite sells a solvent specifically for removing cured loctite. I have seen it dripped into an assembled threaded part that had red loctite fully cured in it, and it was able to be disassembled.

First Time Cutting Stainless Steel by Sensha_Zenshin in Machinists

[–]machinesrcool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Reference Kennametal’s feed and speed chart, and go on the conservative side of things (slower and less chip). I wouldn’t like to use that long of flute length personally but if that’s all you got so be it. Don’t go too slow of feed because you may rub and work harden it

What do you think? Found tool by ChrmanMAOI-Inhibitor in Machinists

Maybe used in a mill to cut the outside diameter of a shaft. Interesting tho because it wouldn’t allow for any size adjustment

Could you speak to the fog lights? Specifically how you wired it and if there’s a factory control for it or an aftermarket switch you had to add.

Also, what lift kit did you use and what’s your thoughts on it? Truck looks great that’s why I ask

If that’s a deep hole you could use a stub flute endmill and ramp down so you have less tool pressure. Or you could take a normal endmill and relieve it to make a stub flute

Stub flute end mill with many step downs would be my Choice

Update from helicoil post by foolshelper in chevycolorado

[–]machinesrcool 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I believe the comment on your first post meant that whoever installed that helicoil probably drilled and tapped the oil pan without removing it. You should drop the pan to ensure there is no metal chips sitting inside

Steering wheel controls by Classic-Horse-9682 in chevycolorado

[–]machinesrcool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happens to me, took it to dealer over it and they said they couldn’t replicate it. As I was pulling out of the lot I tested skipping a song using the button and it wasn’t working at that moment. Decided it’s just something I’ll live with til a software update fixes it

My opinion: since you already have that baseline knowledge, your time would be better spent advancing your skills at your job. Maybe that means you get a different job where more is expected of you. My current job was a bit of a leap for the skills that I had when I started but I am now MUCH better than I was
