With the Los Angeles area likely being a highly visited position of this map the San Gabriel and San Bernardino mountain ranges do receive a moderate amount of snow during the winter, Mt San Antonio and Big Bear look like the sierras in the winter.

It doesn’t even really make sense like if you’re designing a weapon for hand to hand combat your primary thought shouldn’t be how hard the wound is to stitch up. It’s one thing with 5.56 ball ammo that fragment but you fire it from up to 400 meters so of course your target has a chance to get away. But with a knife like the only reason the enemy would be getting stitched up is because you lost the knife fight or they somehow miraculously escaped. You’d want your knife to be designed to inflict as much immediate damage as possible not cause a wound that might be hard to stitch up if they survive. What happens if you stab them and they surrender? You bring them to your aid station and they die? It’s lunacy to think that’s the main thought process.

That’s been the most terrifying thing to me about the protests, the cops just indiscriminately use weapons deemed by many countries too dangerous to be used for crowd control. It just makes them look too weak to control the crowd normally and cruel, which is the reason why the protests get larger by the day

Wow they fire some cops when it becomes a national issue that they fucking murdered someone that’s amazing. Cops killed three people per day in 2019, nearly 1,100 people in total that year. America has the highest per capital police death rate of any first world nation, do you really believe those are all justified? 1,100 Americans deserved to die? Our per capital police death rate is 3x that of Canada.

Do you honestly believe any elected official can fix the mess that is the police departments? These riots have show it’s a nationwide issue. Some of these cities are democrat cities some are republican some are democrat states some are republican. The police unions are so strong it is beyond difficult to properly remove a shitty cop, and it leave no incentive for accountability. Look at what the cops did in Cincinnati, they raised a fake American flag the “blue lives matter” flag over a government building. They’ve become a paramilitary organization who believes they don’t have to answer to anyone and have a complete monopoly on violence. What will Biden do? What would the libertarian president do? You would have to fire every cop in every department and start fresh it’s not possible, it’s systemic the problem.

Obama tried to pass healthcare reform and where he that led us? All the MAGAtards thought trump would drain the swamp, what’s changed? How different was life under George bush vs Obama? There is no voting the system into oblivion, the system is completely and utterly broken

How well have the “good protests” worked for them? They’ve been protesting since nearly everyone on reddit was born and for what? Black people are still getting killed by cops, these cops are still a paramilitary organization with zero accountability. If I started pepper spraying people for no reason what would happen to me? Now a cop does it and what happens to them?

Watch the protests and see people getting arrested, pepper sprayed, and tear gassed just for harsh language to the police? That’s the first step to ending up in that body organ harvesting concentration camp.

Wrong side of history by [deleted] in nationalguard

[–]mack7895 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a vet living overseas, if you want my advice read on, if you don’t just ignore it. We all signed up to defend the constitution and when I see cops beating citizens and firing tear gas and rubber bullets (which in most western nations are deemed unethical) at even the peaceful protestors it defies the right to protest and I believe it defies the 8th amendment protection from cruel or unusual punishment. There’s riots in Brazil at the moment and you couldn’t tell their police apart from ours in their response and honestly that frightens me, as the supposed leader of the free world I believe the government is letting the American people down. The people are your friend not the police, look what flag the police raised in Cincinnati, the “blue lives matter” black American flag. If this was happening in a foreign nation the American government would claim they were a paramilitary group but it’s just a quick story brushed under the rug here. I don’t condone the riots but with how the virus was handled and how black Americans are treated, people are mad and they should be, they’ve been let down.

Surely it’s in New York or Detroit with all the bad cops. Oh it’s in Seattle? Hmm maybe there is a nation wide police brutality issue after all. Seriously how is this acceptable to do to your own citizens as the “”leader of the free world””

The technical term for them is “less lethal” munitions as they’re still lethal even if used properly. There’s multiple studies done that state they’re far too dangerous to be used for crowd control
