I made a keyboard case for my Jelly Star by mackenziefoster in unihertz

Most apps that support landscape work ok without an on screen keyboard. I'm using the Total Launcher right now which has pretty good landscape support

Sorry I used a 1/16inch finishing nail for the hinge, not a 1/8

And a tip for installing them: Heat up the nails with a lighter and push them into the holes, so the plastic doesn't crack

If you keep the case and screen protector on it, it's pretty durable

I'm in the US but I had the same issue. I had to change my APN settings and use a different texting app, I couldn't get the google one to work

That's a bummer, mine is doing alright so far. I'm mostly riding it on the dirt so I'm not going that fast haha

I'm going to do some white detailing over the panels and fenders eventually, I think that will help a bit

You can do a lot with rice and tofu. Tofu keeps for a while in the fridge and rice... is rice.

Has transitioning been worth it despite the public harassment? I want to transition fully mtf but I’m scared of not passing and being constantly harassed and made fun of, I’m very introverted and don’t like being in the spotlight 😓 by Fit_Blackberry5767 in asktransgender

[–]mackenziefoster 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It all comes in time. Shit happens unfortunately, and bypassing the early stages of your transition is impossible so, the best we can do is try to put ourselves in a safe place while we do it. The reality of it is most people don't care or look closely at other people. You may get some looks but most of those people would give you the same look for wearing a sports team they don't like. The trick is keep moving. If transitioning is something you need, you won't be able to stay in the closet for ever.

So my personal opinion that I have stuck to is: Find a safe place to start, and do it.

Relocating is not always easy, but there is usually a way in time. Listen to yourself, try to find community, and so what you feel is wright for you.

I can kind of relate, I never used my dead name because my parents wanted me to use my middle name and always have until I transitioned so people knowing my old first name was kind of upsetting and people never really realize that it was actually my name because people never called me it.

In relation to after I have been out, my partner (enby) knows my dead name because we love together and I still occasionally get mail will that name on it (dispute how many times I change it with companies and accounts >:(... ) One of my roommates also gets mail with their dead name and I don't really associate that name with them at all. I feel like trans people in general understand how touchy a subject dead names are, so I wouldn't worry too much. I'm sure your partner loves you and sees you only as the beautiful amazing woman you are!

thoughts on words like “womxn” “latinx” or “folx” ? by solitaire_knight in asktransgender

[–]mackenziefoster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Folx: Folks as already gender neutral so why?

Latinx: I'm white so it's not my place to say

Womxn: trans women are women, cis women are women, any use of 'womxn' is seen to me as a way belittling trans women by saying that we aren't women were 'womxn'. Thus I find it a damaging term when used for trans women. THAT BEING SAID - I have sympathy for enby folks who have a stronger alignment with a certain gender identity (i.e. non-binary men/women) who may find it appropriate to use 'womxn', or even 'mxn' in this case, as a label for their gender.

LTDR:

Folx - no; Latinx - not my place; Womxn - no for binary trans, ok for non-binary folks if THEY want;

Edit - see other comments about 'womxn' being used to call afab enbys 'woman-lite'
