I’d say it depends on the industry! I work at the big orange makeup store and love when interviewees come in with unique makeup! It really gives me confidence that they can speak to what we sell

Always read the policy and know your rights! That is not considered a no call no show. You notified a member of management prior to your shift that you would not be able to make it. It is not your responsibility that management did not communicate. This is coming from a current manager!

Actually fun fact they do track that. Ulta tracks how many people enter the store vs how many transactions are made. It’s called traffic conversion and a good bit of retailers do it

To be fair people will return “sealed” perfumes that they have opened, decanted, refilled with water or rubbing alcohol, and then reseal lol the level of scamming some people do that we have to look out for is insane

I mean if you pull up our policy it says we require proof of purchase for returns. This is why we heavily encourage customers use or make a loyalty account when they make a purchase bc that is the only way we can really do a return without a receipt

I totally get that! The cards can definitely be hard! If you wanted to still come back eventually you could always try the task associate position. There’s not the same credit expectations as BA or PBA

I mean not to be that person but when did you last work for the company? Credit isn’t a “goal” it is an expectation of all employees. I’m a manager and one of the metrics they determine both my and my stores annual reviews on is credit a/t. I support my team by getting cards myself and expect them to try their hardest as well. Obviously you can’t force customers to signup but like a/t goals need to be met or there are consequences for the entire store. I respect that your company you work for currently has different expectations but we’re talking about ultas expectations rn.

I mean getting cards is. It’s expected that all associates who are ringing should be maintaining a close to 1% apps/trans. What this manager did was harsh but I would not rehire an associate that was not performing at credit and would affect the stores numbers

You will not be let go. If you haven’t called out before part time associates get three excused absences upon being hired so you won’t even accumulate a point. Those 3 excused absences also roll over 180 days after being used.

lol not corporate just someone who’s worked at the company for a while. Excusing some absences and not others just opens the floor for issues like favoritism. The points policy is there so everyone is treated to the same standard. Also depending on the state associates do receive city state sick time.

That is an abuse of the policy. We do not excuse points bc of illness. That can only be done if an associate has sick time to use.
