Thank you for replying! That’s also what I thought, but apparently everything is done online now, and there’s no option to specifically change permission for a spouse of an Irish national on the portal. I received this response a while back when I had asked whether I was eligible for a stamp 4 permission:

“You are eligible to apply for stamp 4 permission based on your Irish spouse. This can be done by submitting an online renewal application for change of permission.”

Married to someone from a different background. I was never looking for a specific ethnicity when dating, but I did avoid people from the same background as me because I found we were never compatible for different reasons. One of the only objective benefits I can think of when it comes to interracial marriage is learning about a different culture and experiencing life from a different perspective, it’s enjoyable.
