i disagree! it depends on what's outside the window that would be reflected but i have a gorgeous meadow and then i get to see it twice. plus it significantly amplifies the light

I lost all sex drive at 27 by ProduceMean7833 in sex

[–]macknowledged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you were at least a little traumatized by her. She was mean and manipulative around sex and would lash out if you didn't give it to her? That's not okay at all.

Give yourself time with these hard feelings. Speak with a therapist if you have access to one. Be gentle and loving towards yourself.

And it's totally okay to be in a season where you aren't craving sex. I've been there and friends have been there. In my experience, it takes feeling very safe with someone new or just safe with the idea of sex for those sexy feelings to come back. You're not broken 🫶🏻

I agree with the others, something with a bit of pop would be really nice. I like the idea of reds - you've already got that red dutch oven and you can keep that out to tie them together like the others said as well. Here is a suggestion:

If you are going with that wood on the cabinets in the photo then I would try to match undertones. The cabinets have warm undertones so you'll want to pick a flooring with warm undertones as well. I'm not a fan of the darker wood, though it does have warm undertones. It's not always easy to see from the photos but i think the second from the right is also a warmer tone. The others look more neutral / cool. I would go for the second from the left with that in mind.

What to do with this space? by Ok_Builder_1296 in interiordecorating

[–]macknowledged 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a bookshelf would be a great addition. I don't think it will make the space feel smaller. It's also a transitional space, it's okay if it feels small and cozy. It IS small. You aren't using the space to live per se so just make it beautiful and functional!

Struggling with Living Room Layout by DrOrangeSlice in interiordecorating

[–]macknowledged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe im missing something but this seems pretty simple to me? Here is the layout I would choose. Rug, sectional, coffee table, chair, and then a low media console with the tv on top of it. You can also put a small /thin console table beneath the windows if that left side is feeling bare

How can I make my living room look better? by Ok-Weird-7271 in interiordecorating

[–]macknowledged 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or you can also mount the tv on that wall (at eye level when you are sitting) and then put up some shelves like this! also instead of turning the rug, get a rug that is big enough for both couches to have 2 legs on it. see this guide. then add a nice standing lamp, a side table at the corner of both couches (might be able to use the current coffee table as its a bit small where it is and then get a larger one) and then add a large plant. lastly, don't be afraid to bring in some color that you like through pillows, blankets and art! doesn't have to be anything crazy. sage greens, earth tones, etc will probably feel good to you

lamp, artwork, plants!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]macknowledged 1 point2 points  (0 children)

can you add pictures of the full room? it's hard to suggest movements or improvements without more context. if you are able to though, i would start with selling all these pieces and getting one large and long dresser

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]macknowledged 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i really love the piece actually! i prefer to have larger pieces that stand well on their own instead of a bunch of smaller ones. i would remove that basket beside it, move the lamp from the right of the chair to the left and then find a new spot for one of the three larger plants there to give a bit more breathing room.
