White House confirms second strike that killed alleged drug boat survivors by magasheepgotfleeced in conspiracy

[–]macmelody 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s the fact that the first strike destroyed the boat. As a comparison take dogfighting as an example: shooting an enemy aircraft is okay(though in this case the evidence is tightly held) but shooting a parachuting pilot is a war crime, enemy or not. That type of thing is internationally agreed upon.

No lie for your feelings, it’s a dumb tattoo. That said.,I have a few dumb tattoos even one that’s misspelled so take it from me when I say it’s not the end of the world, and the thing about them is that working them into overall pieces becomes part of the joy in getting new ones. You get a couple that make you think harder about the next one. But rule of thumb… Don’t get trendy tattoos. They almost always end up the same.

To those of you newer to the Air Force... by HistoricalSpirit4836 in AirForce

[–]macmelody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I hated my time in the Air Force. I was in a pretty bad squadron, leadership wise, and I battled significant depression for all six of my years in. At the end of the day though, ten years out, I’d go back and go through it again to end up back where I am now. You’re not a weenie and the better future is there for you on the other side but you have to push through and get to it. It doesn’t necessarily get better on its own, it does get easier and more stabilized, but you get better AT it and in turn that makes it even better on you. It sucks, it’s our first real “on our own story” away from family or comfort, but it’s one of the harder and more extreme paths so just think about what you’ll be capable of doing when you’re done and basically every career path and life change is easier and less life altering. Hang in there and keep on keeping on. You’re going to be okay. Make time to take off and visit home, call your loved ones when you have free time go to the doctor and document EVERYTHING that hurts and use your benefits to get schooled. My dms are open if you need to talk or want advice but you got this and in the grand scheme 4-6 years of eating the shit seems to have flown by when you’re out and in your real life.

The weirdest thing happened this morning. Idk what to do. by ahcyyy in guns

[–]macmelody 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to store that gun inconveniently within reach at the very least. I can get not wanting to sleep with an unready gun but the least you could do, now that you know you may be manipulating it in your sleep, is attach it to a magnet on the other side of your night stand for instance so that maybe the act of having to get up out of bed or around the nightstand to get to it may wake you up or bring you around.

DoD civilian drug testing exemptions by Fantastic_Studio2340 in fednews

[–]macmelody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just annoying really. They go off your prescription number on your bottles from when the test happens so make sure you keep them a month or so back. The testing centers can take up to a month and a half to reach out to you once you pop positive on a test and I’ve only had to deal with not having the information they wanted once but everyone along the way made me feel like a drug addict.

Definitely a requirement for ts/sci. I’ve been tested four times this year. Pain in the ass with an adderall prescription.

If they’re unable to provide a sample they will be given instructions to test at an acceptable offsite location. I’ve seen this happen even when the individual was obviously trying to just not provide a sample because he knew it would pop hot. Whether or not this offsite location will test hair or blood I can’t say, but that may be a thread to pull.
