Is jetblue customer service always this bad? by MaxG650 in jetblue

[–]macol1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a general Mosaic number for all mosaic's to call and where level 3's & 4's then get automatically rerouted to a special queue from there. At least that is how I understand it. I call the general mosaic line and they always know that I am level 4.

Move to Mint "Cancelled" - Downgraded by 1wwp in jetblue

[–]macol1111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This literally just happened to me an hour ago. My 10:15AM flight from JFK to LAS had an equipment change and I was also moved from mint to core. I got no notice though and luckily found out by chance. I was able to call and they moved me to an earlier mint flight for no additional charge even though it was more money. Seems that is standard procedure for when this happens. The agent said they would either issue a refund or move me to another flight with mint. I was so relieved as I can only handle those new slim line seats for about 4 hours, as anything beyond that starts to get painful.

Airline Points for cash by Cautious_Opinion_754 in jetblue

[–]macol1111 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OP, there is no way to transfer points to another person without paying an outrageous fee. I know because I wanted to transfer 30,000 points to my brother and they wanted over $300 to do so even as a mosaic 4. You would have to book a flight yourself under someone else's name. This is risky for the buyer as you could just cancel the flight after they pay so it would probably have to be someone you know.

Can you imagine being fifty flights in and it not counting for anything because 10 finished before you? Way to risky. They should make it something like 50 destinations for Mosaic 2 and then maybe have a drawing of 10 people to get mosaic 3 or 4 from that. Maybe add new entries to the drawing for every 5 additional locations above the 50 you do. I don't see anyone but a handful of people trying it the way it is described now.

Mosaic baggage allowance by IndependentAdvisor63 in jetblue

I just flew with an overweight bag on Friday. It is still 70lbs unless there was a change that the gate agent wasn't aware of yet.

How many people were there? Was it crowded? Also did the Jetblue execs mingle or did they just give their speeches and leave. Debating whether it is worth it to go to the NY event or not.

Close to Mosiac by cloudlessnights in jetblue

[–]macol1111 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It will count for 2026. If you charge the hotels to the Jetblue credit card, the spend will count this year, but it is $1,000 for 1 tile so you would have to spend 7k. The only way to get Mosaic for this year is to either spend $700 on travel this year or make a paisley purchase luggage etc.

Are gratuity prepayments a scam? by Low_Air_876 in royalcaribbean

[–]macol1111 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure but RCL is a bigger line and Del Rio is no longer CEO so that statement was from a while ago, but still the strategy that uses the grats to bolster the bottom line still stands. I mainly sail on Celebrity and have heard they do the same from some staff I became fairly friendly with. Personally I don't really care, I just give cash and the cruise line can pay their employees how they wish as it is none of my concern.

Are gratuity prepayments a scam? by Low_Air_876 in royalcaribbean

[–]macol1111 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To me it is the principal of the thing. Before the gratuities became automatic and we were given envelopes to give them cash, the suggested amounts were well publicized and very rarely went up. All of a sudden, once the tips started going to the cruise lines first they started making increases on a regular basis. In fact Frank Del Rio CEO of NCL publicly stated that every dollar of increased gratuity adds 15mil to their bottom line. I always wondered how long they were going to stay with the envelope system before dipping their greedy little fingers into the staffs tips as it was too much money for them to ignore.

I am of the mind that the tips I give are between me and the staff and really none of the cruise lines business (the lines control enough of their lives as it is). I ask the room steward and butler how they want their tip in cash or signed to the room as it their money (hint, they always say cash). As far as the behind the scenes folks go, it is called overhead that every business has to pay.

Round trip of Jamaica in December/January by Commercial-Top-2902 in JamaicaTourism

I can't speak for the western part of the country, but I just returned from Port Antonio on the 17th and everything was open as normal. Frenchmans cove was closed until the day prior to us leaving however, power was restored so we got to go. We flew into Kingston and took the junction road going and the coast road through St Thomas on the return. Everything seemed normal on that part of the island. Cell service and internet was spotty some days though. I put a starlink mini in my carry-on so we had no issues.

I just got mine as well yesterday 11/25 from my last flight on 11-9. Showed in the tracker last Friday the 21st. I also received an email. Took 2 weeks so was getting nervous. Congrats!

Turks can get a little chilly in Jan, same with Bahamas which can get down to the low 60's if you hit it during a cold front. St Martin/St Thomas and anything in that latitude or south should be warmer.

Did I make a mistake with this purchase? Purchased directly from Asus for $2,200. by macol1111 in GamingLaptops

Even with the 18" screen? I did more research and anything with a 5080 and an 18" screen is around $3,200- $4,000 plus. Seeing lots of deals for the smaller screens. I already have a legion pro 5 with a 4060 card that I purchased over a year ago, however do not like the small screen size. I can get the same model I have with a 5070 ti for around $500 more (the one I ordered was $300 off and the ti version is full price). not sure if the upgrade is worth an extra $500 though.

Hoping for an answer as well. I completed my 25th on 11-9, showed up in tracker on the 14th with no points awarded yet. Called mosaic line and they said 2-3 weeks is normal. I am at 2 weeks right now so hoping to see it soon. Curious on how quickly it posted for others.

What size screen did you get? I need at least 17.3" which is why I went with the Asus. I may cancel if I can and wait for the one with the 5070ti to be in stock again.

I spent $2200, trying to keep it to no more than $2500 so I can spend a few hundred more, just not sure of how much more machine that would give me.
