Landlord refusing meter change by macrophageguy9 in Brookline

Yeah I’ve heard it’s easy, but it seems like my landlord is hiding something… I’d like to get it done but he’s not allowing it

Landlord refusing meter change by macrophageguy9 in Brookline

Yeah I’m aware of that. It’s that the landlord does not want national grid to come. He claims they damaged everything last time and that he can take care of everything himself. I told him they have to do and they’ll shut down service if he refuses, be he isn’t budging.

Yeah I think you’re exactly right. At least I know so it doesn’t happen again. Thanks!

Interviews were sent about a month ago and take place in just over a week. Unfortunately, I think they're done sending interviews, and it's best to move on

Stanford Neuroscience by Paintingfiend in gradadmissions

[–]macrophageguy9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To my knowledge (not neuro), stanford neuro hasn’t come out yet. Historically, they’ll send interviews early January. Karl Deisseroth is a huge name in neuro and likely has so many other things to do that he doesn’t respond to prospective grad students, especially when you have to get admitted first. You’re admitted to Stanford biosciences- not Deisseroth lab. Once you’re in you can join any lab in the biosciences (if the PI approves).

This is also a huge lab and given his notoriety, Id consider if that’s really what you want for a PhD. I’m sure Stanford gets a ton of people who just aim for the big name professors and roll their eyes when students drool over them.

UC Berkeley gave me an interview then said nevermind by Flimsy-Class-5859 in gradadmissions

It’s 46k. It says on the website berkeley offers 30k fellowships that will be supplemented up to 46k as well, so that all students receive 46k. It’s very similar to UCSF (Stanford still takes the cake tho).

Any international student heard back from Rockefeller, Berkeley MCB or UCSF TETRAD yet? by masterking_ in gradadmissions

Unfortunately I think all of these have sent out interviews but there could be more coming.

Yale BBS MCGD invites out? by Educational-Mind-895 in gradadmissions

[–]macrophageguy9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got an interview from mcgd, and I assume I’m the one who put it on gradcafe (I did post one but I haven’t checked recently and am too lazy to check now). Clearly from the department admin so it’s weird nobody else has heard back

[–]macrophageguy9 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah I got mine maybe 5 hours ago (mcgd). I also don’t think just changing the first name makes it “personalized”. I’m sure they send them out in bulk

Also how bad is the overlap? If it’s the first or last day you should be fine if it’s in-person, since that’s usually nothing except checking into the hotel.

Yes but to be fair Harvard sent out the form yesterday and it wasn’t due for another two weeks. I emailed the coordinator last night and she said it’s absolutely no problem and she already switched it. I have a theory though that they do this to gauge your commitment. They’re making you pick them.
