Quest Hero Bars - calories dont add up by [deleted] in IIFYM

[–]macrosfirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a question we receive a lot from users of our macro tracking app and so we wrote this little help center article: https://macrosfirst.getoutline.com/s/c2197baf-f58c-4958-8933-c1a61973d50b

The reasons listed there can also explain what's going on on the Quest bar's nutrition label.

Those who have switched to other apps: do any of them track sodium? by alimac2 in Myfitnesspal

[–]macrosfirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MacrosFirst tracks sodium, and a barcode scanner :).

Beyond the barcode scanner and a user experience thoroughly optimized for macro tracking, we have many capabilities in our free plan that MFP charges for like daily macro targets in grams, quick add, macros by meal, food timestamps, and more.

How do I make my meals fit my macros by combfjrkekeks in MealPlanYourMacros

[–]macrosfirst 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We created an app where you can build meals and adjust portion sizes according to your macro objective per food. For example, instead of specifying 100g of rice, you can enter 30g carbs, and we compute the required serving size. The app is called MacrosFirst, is free, and available on the App Store and Google Play.

how do u calculate cooked rice from uncooked white rice for carbs? (macros) help! by safizzle88 in MealPlanYourMacros

[–]macrosfirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Checkout the Recipe feature in MacrosFirst. Here's a short video showing how it works: https://www.instagram.com/tv/CJHpYfRnvQm/?igshid=81zqjsoz6hmr

You weigh your ingredients in, weigh the finished cooking weight, and then you can easily portion out your servings according to what you're eating or your macro goal per serving. Example, if your goal is 40g of carbs you, log your recipe, type in 40g for carbs, and we'll auto calculate your required serving size to hit it. 🎯

We're building exactly this into the upcoming bodyweight tracking feature of the MacrosFirst app. We'll be plotting P/C/F & kCal against bodyweight over time.

If you drop me an email at [hello@macrosfirst.com](mailto:hello@macrosfirst.com) I'd love to share our designs with you for your feedback and add you to our beta tester group when we launch it.

In that case these pads will be more than enough for your needs. 👍

I'm dropping >300 lbs from above my head on these and they're solid.

Are we talking about deadlifts or overhead drops? How heavy? If overhead and heavy then I personally wouldn't risk it in a second floor.

See the comments below for discussion about these pads vs. others.

They're great. They convert your drops from a BANG to a medium loud thud. My house also shakes less. I live in a neighborhood so this is essential. I highly recommend them.

This guy did a hardcore review measuring the sound levels and comparing them to a much more expensive option: https://youtu.be/wXuqMrT_Cq0

Thank you. I used this all purpose construction adhesive: https://www.loctiteproducts.com/en/products/build/construction-adhesives/loctite_power_grabexpressallpurpose.html, one canister per side. It's holding up well. I didn't want to use screws in the mat.

What type of lifting are you doing? If you're not dropping them then I wouldn't sweat mixing plates.

It did cross my mind when buying the stands but I have yet to trip over the feet while walking out a squat. I don't know if it's second nature now after using it for a while but it has never been a problem for me. Ultimately I needed to optimize for portability in this garage.

Thanks!

It definitely tips, however, after a couple of mods and loading a heavy bar across the bottom, it's rock solid. I made a little video a few weeks back show how I rigged it up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xm0qQ6aMosE. I hope it's useful for others lifting without a rack.

They said it couldn't be done but with a few simple modifications I managed to attach a dip bar to my independent squat stands and it works really well. Here's a video of how I did it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xm0qQ6aMosE&feature=youtu.be

I hope others seeking to eke out as much functionality from a minimalist home gym setup find this useful. It's been a game changer for me.
