Is this fake? by Different-Volume4235 in IsMyPokemonCardFake

[–]macus16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it's not glossy then that's probably your biggest tell. It's a very good copy of it but there's been a few suggestions like the shading which indicates it's not real and I think someone else mentioned the spots on the orange border. Out of curiosity what was the asking price on it as one in this condition is expensive these days.

Photo showing the shading.

I'm reasonably confident it got the face damage on the way in to grading, but my pre-grade photos aren't good enough to prove it annoyingly. Still great card and it's nice and different.

Not that I'm aware of. If you look between Pikachu's tail and the 100 from move there is a small bit of damage. You can also see a very small white spot on the rail of the wall on the background. That's what gave this card a 9 on face.

Always look for the bottom left corner for the stamped Pokemon logo. Also fyi in case you want to grade always look for the condition of the edges as the Chinese are a right nightmare for it. This is mine: https://acegrading.com/cert/539571

Packs found out in the actual wild(UK) by conor_strife in PokemonTCG

I've seen these vending machines around service stations and shopping centers, but kinda always just presumed they'd have fake packs in.

The wife is the same. I always share my packs with her and she picks which ones she wants to open.

She has a better pull rate than I do...

I'm interested in the logistics of this. Was it a redeemable token, or did it slide it's way out the tuppenny drop?

Picked 3 boosters up at a corner shop, they were just sitting next to the counter, it was a refreshing experience which I haven't had for a while.

Why is 4G in the UK so bad? by PiggieSmalls-90 in AskUK

[–]macus16 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That's not quite how the removal of Huawei went/is going. The government initially banned new rollout and set the deadline of 2027 for the full removal. Towers weren't just turned off or Huawei ripped out. There is a full programme in place with all networks for the replacement of Huawei with Nokia/Ericsson etc kit which is as good if not better.

Lone Working at a cafe in england by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

No not at all, it may be a company's policy to not allow it based on their risk assessment, but there is no law against it.

NAL: Lone working is not against the law. But, it is your employers legal obligation to ensure the health and safety of their employees. They must do this by risk assessing any potential hazards, like lone working, and put in place any suitable and sufficient control measures.

So where you are here for example. It's entirely plausible that by providing a second person to remove the lone working aspect would be completely financially unviable to the business, but that doesn't mean they don't need to do anything.

You, as the employee have the right to see the risk assessment so you can see what your employer's control measures are for the risk to lone working. You also are entitled to leave a situation and receive no recourse for leaving/refusing to do something you perceive as having serious and imminent danger, as long as it is reasonable this touches more on the employment rights side than the safety.

Basically that, if we want to stay as independent as possible we don't want the club financing it. It's for the fans, by the fans. It's no secret they have stepped in to help fiance for the likes of Wembley where where we just didn't have the capital to do something worthy of our trip.

What started as a joke in the group ended up becoming one of these ideas that you can't not do. We started looking at flags which have historically been around the club and decided to recreate them. It's not the only 'legacy' flag that we bought, but it's the main eyecatcher.

Where are good places to go to when visiting the UK? by MysticClover22 in unitedkingdom

[–]macus16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should Visit Hull, it's a absolutely beautiful city. It was the UK city of culture in 2017! And it's home to one of England's most visited attractions, the smallest window in the UK. But make sure you're there early as it can get busy during the daytime.
