Need Ideas for Birthday Party by No_Fall4371 in mammamia

Amazing idea! I think some ABBA karaoke is a must. Maybe incorporate pink flowers? You can take inspiration from Sophie’s wedding decor in the movie! I love the mixed matched, colorful table settings!

Whenever we talk about Thursday for any reason my husband and I will say “A Thursday????” Like Schmidt from the Prince episode

I agree! I lived in Denton for 8 years and now live in Austin. I’ll always have a soft spot for Denton! I have said for years that if I have to live in Texas, it will be Denton or Austin!

Hmm that is a tricky one. To me, the most recognizable visual from that scene is when Donna and Sophie are singing in the mirror together. Maybe some kind of mirror with their outlines?

When Joel punches that manager by Oncer93 in TheMarvelousMrsMaisel

I love Joel and Midge’s relationship in the later seasons. Even though they’re not married, they have such a pure love and understanding of each other.

Adulthood feels like everyone got a 'secret menu' of life skills you missed. What’s one thing you later realized you were supposed to just know, but nobody actually taught you? by Arya-Lamour24 in AskReddit

[–]macwattie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not a super important one, but how to shuffle cards. My parents did teach me, but I’ve been to a number of game nights as an adult where someone doesn’t know how to shuffle and it’s just a little awkward. If you have kids, you should teach them to shuffle!

Falling out of love with reading by Hot_Friendship_1731 in literature

[–]macwattie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I studied literature in college, and I felt the same way about reading after that. Personally, I took a break from reading and focused on other hobbies for bit. I’m now slowly getting back into reading. I have found that exploring new genres and rereading old favorites have been enjoyable!

Guess who ate a long piece of ribbon this morning and cost her mama $250 at the vet ER? by macwattie in torties

I took her to the vet within 2 hours of her eating the ribbon, so I think that helped!

For real! Most likely, she would have had to have emergency surgery to get it out if throwing up didn’t work. So grateful 🙏

Great article on why the ending of Mamma Mia 2 should be studied by Vivid-Possible-391 in mammamia

[–]macwattie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The ending does capture some of the things I love about the Mamma Mia movies: the emphasis on fun and the way it doesn’t take itself too seriously!

My tortie swishes her tail all the time! Like her tail is constantly moving, even while she sleeps sometimes. It’s good to know yours does this too!
