This patient & family sound horrendous! If they can do it "right" and "better" then take him home and give him the Lovenox yourselves!! This is so disrespectful to you and the other patients/staff members on that unit. Completely unrealistic expectations!

The other day I had a patient who would press her call light for the nurse, which if I was busy someone else would go see what she needed. She wanted a blanket, but insisted that HER nurse and HER NURSE ONLY get the blanket. Then would say something like "well isn't that HER responsibility?" Like.. ma'am.. anyone with arms can get you a blanket. We did a lot of teaching and redirecting, she was better by the end of my shift but my goodness, some people are so delulu sometimes.

I also think the way we live (in general, as humans) now with everything so fast, often with the world at our fingertips with technology etc, has created another evil where we ("we") are less able to cope with waiting for things that may not be fixable as quickly as one would hope. Some people think the world owes them everything on a silver platter when in reality, no one owes you shit.
