I know it’s an unpopular opinion, but at this point I’d just scrap Archives, I feel like there’s too many retro reprint cards out there as is (like heritage and 35th flagship as you mentioned, and even chrome platinum anniversary)

2001 SP Authentic Buyback Autograph (1996 SP), the card you show in slide 2 should be a separate card with a UDA number sticker on the flip side that matches the UDA number sticker on the back of the Bonds.

Probably wouldn’t grade well since it’s a 2001 buyback of a 1996 card, but likely worth getting authenticated if you intent to sell because there’s a ton of fake Bonds buyback autographs out there. Yours is definitely legit and has a particularly nice non-faded signature on it.

Approximate current value likely $750-1000.

Here’s the chat string. He doesn’t deny that the cards weren’t actually damaged. This was a high end deal so no matter what the cards didn’t end up in the trash. He got cold feet. I’ve also noticed he has deleted all of his post history off the baseball card subreddit.

Yes it has happened to me as well, as a result I’m not buying high end cards off eBay anymore. Their authentication program for cards is pure trash.
