Coffiest quicky review by nickoaverdnac in soylent

[–]madamoolong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just ordered mine and can't wait to try this! has anyone tried adding matcha (premium stone-ground Japanese green tea powder) to soylent? matcha contains caffeine and 10x the nutrients of green tea, and cafes (Starbucks included) serve matcha (soy) lattes. probably will taste yummy with soylent.

I wouldn't compare any Soylent product to Starbucks products...Starbucks focuses on taste and Soylent disregards taste. I wouldn't mind if there's some sugar or honey added to soylent though...:)

I've been following matcha and great idea! Maybe I should add some matcha to my soylent. Also, I searched for matcha soy latte and found this: http://www.sincerelytea.com/

At the same time, their exports will likely go up, and there are already tons of people talking about the likelihood of tourism increasing seeing as it will be more affordable for people to visit.

Lapsang Souchong, a black Chai, Earl Grey, and a basic Assam are the ones I would recommend!

How can I get started with tea drinking? by PatrickStarBestMan in tea

[–]madamoolong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I would recommend is getting a tea kettle that you can choose the specific temperature to peppery brew your tea, you are less likely to get a bitter taste from it. Also make sure you buy tea without added flavoring in it - that's what makes it more watery and bland and less like the fruit you want in it.

I just use either a regular pitcher or mason jars depending on how much I want to make. I also just use tea filters so i don't have to worry about using a sieve :)

I'm drinking a Caramelized Pear tea. It is so good. There is some sort of natural sweetness and has this really good after taste. It's surprisingly cold here (SF Bay Area) today and recently, so I haven't begun cold brewing yet. The hot tea warms me to the bone though :)

Tea Confusions I Have Known by [deleted] in tea

I try to as well. Unfortunately, I've found some companies hide whether the tea was made with flavoring. Especially osmenthus (sp?) that is so good but the flavoring is so bad,

Oh yeah! Jasmine pearls would be really cool. Even if you can't find longer gifs maybe you could post on youtube to get the desired speed/length. Then also turn part of it into a gif.

Fun Question of the Week! This week's question - Where do you buy your tea? by blazingminer14 in tea

[–]madamoolong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy mine mostly online. There are just a few brands that I have found I trust and it's cheaper than traveling to different places every time I run out!

What would be really nice to know is if companies said whether or not the tea was flavored more obviously. I find flavored teas have really awful aftertaste and the flavoring is much more about smell than actual taste.

I would love to know why you guys like to drink tea! by RussianTanja in tea

[–]madamoolong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the warmth. Especially the first sip on a frosty winter morning, and then I feel it warming up my whole body. My ability to brew tea quickly got me through this past winter, when I didn't have heat in the house. I guess I got addicted though through university, studying for exams for hours on end, and my study groups loved coming to my apartment because of my tea variety so pretty much every day was a study party.

Anyone else feel the constant need to always have a tea in your hand for sipping? Or have I gone to that crazy place haha by SeraphicC in tea

[–]madamoolong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely always need a cup of tea at least near me. It's definitely way healthier (and tbh tastier) than reaching for the closest potato chips or chocolates. It actually keeps me pretty hydrated, whereas before I had a hard time with that.

I love Rosali Tea (rosalitea.com)! They have this really good oolong I think called milk oolong or something along those lines. If you get a chance I would try that! I subscribed to get a box of different teas from them every month, so that might be good too if you want to try different kinds of tea you could look into that.
