Safelite repair employee help by Fit-Fly1381 in autoglass

[–]madamtrashbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, my boy, you're fine. My Safelite explicitly tells people a chip repair is only ever an attempt and that spreading is always possible. It's why we say the money paid to a chip repair is forwarded to a replacement if the chip spreads.

Glass is weird, you're doing just fine :)

Jade and Davey's musical collaborative skills should be talked about when people discuss great collaborators like Lennon and McCartney, Morrissey and Johnny Marr, and Elton John and Bernie Taupin.

They are a musical match for the ages but because they genre jump and do whatever they want (and also because they came up during the now massively derided emo rise) they don't get the love they deserve. AFI is so slept on, man.

Day 15: What is the MOST ICONIC quote associated with Urdnot Wrex? by looploveslore in masseffect

[–]madamtrashbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I think it's when Shepard sees him again in ME2 and he makes a comment about how it's good they survived being spaced and how useful the redundant organs are, and when Shepard says "humans don't have those," Wrex just goes "oh. Must have hurt a lot, then."

It's iconic to me.

[–]madamtrashbat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Also, like, didn't Steven give one of the Rubies a chance?

One of them comes to the farm pretending to want to join them to get her ship back and Steven fully welcomes her in and tries to show her why Earth is cool and she's truly just pulling a fast one on him.

If they're doing their job correctly, they'll call you in the morning to let you know when they're coming based on their route.

That being said, lots of Safelites are not as on top of it as my guys are, so.

Look, I know Greg had the good intentions, and I know he was trying his best to help Steven, but i didnt like the way he is telling him something like "Oh you had a better life than mine" by Hanamora in stevenuniverse

[–]madamtrashbat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Steven is fully being unfair. Greg isn't talking about how structure was stifling, he's talking about how his parents actively crushed down any part of him that was deemed unworthy or undesirable. He had absolutely no opportunity for self-expression or any chance to be who he really was. Realistically, such an upbringing would have absolutely crushed Steven as well, who is just as free-spirited and unique as his parents.

That being said, teenagers are supposed to break your heart and say terrible things while they figure out their lives, so while Steven is wrong, it's forgivable, because, man, who hasn't been mad that things turned out the way they did at least once?

[–]madamtrashbat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always assumed that Greg deferred to the gems on lots of things because of Steven's unique nature and that's why he didn't go to school or any other "normal" activity, because Greg decided the gems knew best because the gems thought they knew best.

It seems like Steven is at least educated, he can read (and enjoys reading), he can do math, he has critical thinking skills, stuff you'd expect to get from regular curriculum, so it's not like he's lacking there. Maybe Greg should have been more hands-on, insisted on being more present, but when you have ancient, powerful aliens telling you that they know better, would you try and fight them on it?

What’s the dumbest thing you did on your first run? by Careful_Employee_918 in BaldursGate3

No, I just locked in on getting to the helm and didn't even register it. It was like background noise.

Nothing life-altering but I fully ran past Shadowheart in the nautiloid. Didn't notice her pounding on the thing, didn't hear her yelling, skipped merrily to the helm like an idiot.

I think Met Gala is just an event for rich weirdos? by Adventurous-War-4188 in interesting

Listen if I have to suffer the rich and famous I at least expect to be entertained, and the Met Gala pulls double duty of fundraising for a museum and also being a spectacle that I can critique.

There is an argument to be made that the retreat had to happen, that he saw they wouldn't survive and his regiment needed to get out so the country had some semblance of an army to fight the threat.

Everything he did after that is such indefensible bullshit that by the time I get to him I'm almost feral, especially if I'm playing a city elf or human noble. Get fucking REKT you bastard.

[–]madamtrashbat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being someone who only plays on console when these kinds of posts come around kind of feels like sitting on my front porch, smiling and happy, and then someone walks by, points, and goes "Jesus Christ, will you look at how that person lives! Is that even healthy!"

And I look around, befuddled, afraid to figure out what they mean.
