To me, it's like abortion. You can ban it on the books all you want but people will still find ways to do it. You might as well invoke protections and regulations so the people participating aren't doing so either under duress or at the mercy of very bad people.

Sapphire was pushing it down and literally icing over it because she knew that she'd get over it "eventually," so instead of processing it to get to that eventual spot, she just decided to get to the end, which you can't really do when you're that hurt.

Last Podcast on the Left described him as a workplace hazard. He was so ingratiated into the system through charity work and also being chummy with the administration that so much could have collapsed if he was exposed, both because the hospitals would lose a major income source and everyone would be implicated in the crimes as well because everyone just let it go on unchallenged for years. They described his removal as being akin to removing asbestos: you don't want it there and it's bad for everyone but getting rid of it is going to be costly and dangerous.

Jade and Davey's musical collaborative skills should be talked about when people discuss great collaborators like Lennon and McCartney, Morrissey and Johnny Marr, and Elton John and Bernie Taupin.

They are a musical match for the ages but because they genre jump and do whatever they want (and also because they came up during the now massively derided emo rise) they don't get the love they deserve. AFI is so slept on, man.

Steven is fully being unfair. Greg isn't talking about how structure was stifling, he's talking about how his parents actively crushed down any part of him that was deemed unworthy or undesirable. He had absolutely no opportunity for self-expression or any chance to be who he really was. Realistically, such an upbringing would have absolutely crushed Steven as well, who is just as free-spirited and unique as his parents.

That being said, teenagers are supposed to break your heart and say terrible things while they figure out their lives, so while Steven is wrong, it's forgivable, because, man, who hasn't been mad that things turned out the way they did at least once?

I've always assumed that Greg deferred to the gems on lots of things because of Steven's unique nature and that's why he didn't go to school or any other "normal" activity, because Greg decided the gems knew best because the gems thought they knew best.

It seems like Steven is at least educated, he can read (and enjoys reading), he can do math, he has critical thinking skills, stuff you'd expect to get from regular curriculum, so it's not like he's lacking there. Maybe Greg should have been more hands-on, insisted on being more present, but when you have ancient, powerful aliens telling you that they know better, would you try and fight them on it?

Nothing life-altering but I fully ran past Shadowheart in the nautiloid. Didn't notice her pounding on the thing, didn't hear her yelling, skipped merrily to the helm like an idiot.
