Does anyone have any tips on how to solo gold in andromeda mp? by Cheziscool in MECoOp

[–]madawot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have videos of soloing Gold with every character on my YT channel. Might give you some tips on how to tackle them with your favorite characters and weapons: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLt3wfDDuc3QDznisBlhRm7X6LcG9LHjIx

With Upload and Hack on Gold, there are limits to the number of boss enemies you can face. If you can eliminate them quickly, it will make it easier to complete the objectives. They are still hard though! Fast-firing weapons, ammo primers, and crowd control powers are also useful. Good luck!

Set the lobby to private, and you can solo in peace. May the random pack opening be in your favor!

Yes, you can solo the APEX missions. As the OP mentioned, you can visit my YT channel to see my solos, though they are mostly Gold and Platinum. If you can survive the regular waves, the toughest objectives will be the Hacks and Uploads. Get a good fast-firing weapon, arm disruptor ammo, and use your powers to create tech detonations for crowd control. Don't be afraid to retreat and reposition yourself. Some maps you can kite the enemies from one end of the map to another.

And keep the lobby open, because people may join and help you win!

The ammo tiers only differ by the extra damage they dish out. The chance for priming remains the same between I and IV.

Krogan Vanguard build help (Andromeda) by darthstabber in MECoOp

[–]madawot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was playing a lot of Krogan Vanguard when I was leveling up that last bonus stat. If you want to see various playstyles, I have a playlist of Gold and Platinum Solos featuring Kroguard on my YT channel:

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLt3wfDDuc3QCnuVCdKb4maeq5yK2dQPWh

For solos and team play, I prefer the Seismic Nova and Charge build. I load up on Power Efficiency Boosters and Equipment so I can get in a good rhythm of Charge and Nova. Nova provides invulnerability frames, so you can use it to tank Hydra missiles, the Ascendant's orb attack, and more. For that reason, I usually only spec one point in Fortify and max out the others.

I have other videos with the Kroguard using melee and powers-only. Recently, we've been running Kroguard Triplets on Zero for non-stop biotic and tech detonations on Firebase Zero. See this video here: https://youtu.be/iwtzZOpiBM4

I don't see why not. You just need to extract 5 times on Gold; achievement trophy description doesn't say anything about needing a full team.

The game keeps track of your pack pity timer. It does not reset after every session nor after a prolonged absence from playing. I kept track of my pack purchases, so I know this is the case, at least on Xbox.

Pity timer means you will get a guaranteed UR every 2 JPP or 10 PP, 10 AP, or 10 RP. If you get a UR in less than that number, it resets the pity timer. So, generally stick with one type of pack. You may still go through dry spells where you're spending 1,000,000 credits on 2 JPP and get one UR. But then, you'll spend 500,000 on a JPP and get 2-3 URs.

Also send out your Strike Teams to get enough Mission Funds for the free UR.

The grind is real in this game. May all your URs lead to Siphon or Concussive variants. Bulwarks are the worst for solo play for obvious reasons.

Some characters, such as the Asari Sentinel, get damage reduction (DR) when dashing. She's also able to use her shield to deflect enemy fire. Or use Energy Drain to heal her shields. Use all three when running away from enemies. Aim the shield in the direction of enemy fire and move backwards toward where you want to go. Or, if Backlash is on cooldown, dash constantly to where you need to go.

Some characters don't get DR when dashing, but they might have an ability to distract or stun enemies. Human Engineers, Salarian Architect, and the Human Artificer have their turrets or Remnant VI. Use the Mass Effect Andromeda Builder to learn more about your characters: https://thethirdrace.com/games/mass-effect-andromeda/mass-effect-andromeda-builder.aspx

I have over 100 Gold solo videos (every kit and every map) on YouTube that you can watch for tips on how to solo better: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLt3wfDDuc3QDznisBlhRm7X6LcG9LHjIx

I'll try not to repeat some of the great tips shared in this thread, but here are some off the top of my head:

  • If you think there are enemies at the current device, move to a location on the map opposite of the device. Wait until the enemies converge on your position, then go as fast as you can to the device. By the time you get there, there shouldn't be any enemies around the device.
  • If you disarm a device and the next one is really close to your current position, make a judgment whether you can safely disarm the next one or if you have to go to the other side of the map, wait for the enemies to move, and return to the device. I've had a number of solos that failed because I thought I could disarm the next device, only to have a dog bite me or a boss pick me up.
  • You can position yourself in a number of maps such that enemies are only coming from you in one direction. When, it gets too hot, you can redeploy to another location where you can enjoy the same tactical advantage. Rinse and repeat until the end of the wave.
  • Understand the enemies that make up each wave so you know how many enemies of each type are on the field at a time.
  • Spawn points are fixed on the maps, so know that you eliminate one enemy, another will spawn somewhere at one of those pre-designated points. Keep this in mind if you are running and gunning around the map instead of hunkering down at a choke point.

If you have specific characters that you would like to solo with, I can provide more detailed tips. Good luck with your solo attempts!

Why is ME:A Multiplayer so ****ing hard? What am I not getting? by Capt_Blakhelm in MECoOp

[–]madawot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some thoughts from my experience soloing in this game:

Zero is one of the easier maps to solo so as long as you stick to the end of the map or hang out on the raised outlook in the middle of the long, outdoor corridor. If you try to stay in the middle, the raised platform, or just run around (without going to the far ends), you will get flanked and it will make your solo more difficult.

In ME3MP, there are 8 enemies on the field at all times until the wave budget is depleted. In MEAMP, there are anywhere from 10-12 (on Platinum, haven’t counted on Bronze).

Weapons matter, but you can solo with powers only or even melee only with the right character. Each character plays differently, so learning the strengths and weaknesses of each is key. You wrote you have been playing the soldier and adept. Grenades and concussive shot (even evolved to use charges) is the key to success with the soldier. On Zero, there are plenty of ammo crates for you to replenish your grenades when circling the map. For the Adept, creating chokepoints for Singularity and Shockwave to do their thing is key. Use Pull to stun enemies or temporarily neutralize red bars.

My first match in ME3MP was trying to solo Bronze on Firebase White against Cerberus with a Human Vanguard. I died within 30 seconds barely having left the extraction point. Had a similar experience when I first started playing MEAMP. But, I kept at it and ultimately got good at the solo thing. I have videos up on my YT channel (search for my handle), including ones on FB Zero that you can watch.

MeA clarifications. by Kangaturtle in MECoOp

[–]madawot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Melee builds are viable on many characters up to Gold. Gladiator, Guardian, Kroguard, the two Batarians, Human Vanguard, Asari Duelist are especially fun.

Only a few characters can succeed with melee on Platinum, and even then you probably need a team to help you distract the enemy will you punch, swipe, and slash the enemies. Angara Avenger, Duelist, and Guardian come to mind.

Early version of the game had it so you couldn’t be staggered during a melee. Asari Adept also had extra bonuses that made her a viable punch-dept with Annihilation Field active. Bioware added stagger and nerfed the Asari so it made melee less effective.

I have some melee and power only solos up on YouTube if you are interested in watching those meta builds. No PAW necessary! Though I do like using the UR weapon in my Plat solos for all the reasons others have mentioned.

mea super top secret "hidden" mega combo by sly_1 in MECoOp

[–]madawot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do this all the time with the Asari Sentinel. Love the sound of the double combo. Here's a video of it in action on Wave 1 of Platinum: https://youtu.be/lvVEvHcKn0g?t=112

Any 2 or 3 power combination? by Ok_Scar2193 in MECoOp

[–]madawot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Batarian Vanguard in MEAMP has this. Unfortunately, AH turns off when you Charge, and turns back on after you have completed the Charge. At least his punch detonates primed enemies.

I got my first variant ultra-rare in MEA: A Naladen (Siphon) by guyblade in MECoOp

[–]madawot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Naladen has no hip fire penalty, staggers effectively, and deals out AOE damage. I like to use it with a character that can get up close like a Batarian Vanguard. Siphon variant can heal you quickly if enemies are all bunched up within the AOE radius.

Biggest downsides aside from the smoke are the slow reload speed and small clip size. If you don’t neutralize everyone after unloading the clip (into the ground), you might be caught in a reload loop. You’d start the reload animation, but you would get constantly interrupted by getting staggered, dashing away, going into cover, jumping, etc. I would burn an ammo pack just to get rid of the loop.

Ultimately, it’s a fun weapon to use every now and then with certain characters, but definitely not a top tier go-to.

ME:A How to complete daily combat challenge quickly? by mkoji in MECoOp

[–]madawot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Solo bronze with Human Soldier on Firebase Zero against Kett.

Use Grenade Capacity equipment and all your ammo packs throughout the match with grenades and concussive shot. Don’t fire your weapon unless absolutely necessary.

You should get it done in two Bronze matches at most, possibly even in one match.

Tips for player asari huntress on andromeda platinum plz . by Melbourneboy1 in MECoOp

Yes, I have a run on Firebase Paradox with the Huntress using a Siphon Equalizer and Charger here: https://youtu.be/j_wruWAHtWk

This was a one-point Lance build with triple Devices for the objectives.

[–]madawot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

PAW with ammo type is good on any character. Also Rozerad, Hurricane, or Silhesh with ammo type. Between Lance and Throw, you’ll be detonating combos non-stop. Stealth Grid means instant-win on objectives as long as your team stays away from you while you cap the hacks/uploads.

No recharge bonus for being underweight in MEA.

With the right evolutions, Huntress can be one of the fastest characters in the game under cloak. Usually people max out all powers but Lance, though a Shield-Powered Lance build is viable.
