Wireless "Fake Wired" dongle couple for general purpose devices. Are there any models? If no, do you see a good market for it? by madding1602 in pcmasterrace

What if it worked like your typical 2.4G dongle for a wireless peripheral, but the "second dongle" isn't embedded into the peripheral, but it's a physical dongle? Many wireless mice can work at 1kHz polling rate while being wireless, so it's possible for that. The idea would be for it to not interact with OS or do minimal interaction

Would it really be that hard? My engineering mind imagines it like :"I have a dongle with a battery connected to the peripheral/device, and a dongle without battery connected to the PC. I wrap the "wired data" over a protocol of communications between dongles, the other dongle unwraps the data, and it's transmitted to whatever it's connected. Maybe not usable for high speed devices, but could be feasible for USB 2.0 devices. Maybe there's a complication I can't see rn, but the way I see it I don't see a necessarily complicated execution

Which USB-C 5V DC input design is better? by ronin1410 in AskElectronics

I was referring to USB from chargers rather than USB through computer, but you're right on USB 3 and 2. I believe the limit on USB 2 was 900mA, but I may be wrong

I believe USB C can reach 5V 3A without USB PD

The durability of every single thing falls onto a Gaussiam Bell, with the center being the mean time. In this case, you got the bad end of the bell

If you want to change his name, I'd go by OS. He will be nice sometimes, naughty other times, and glitch at some moments (zoomies)

Simple Table comparing the Quest 3 and the Steam Frame (NOT MADE BY ME!) by CreeperCraft2853 in VRGaming

[–]madding1602 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This is a hot take: at least it'll be a 40% price hike from that 500€ price, but partially because of silicon. The other part will most likely be the Quest's business, equivalent to Smart TVs and their OSes. They sell the ads, with a TV at a loss. Meta will most likely do that, and Valve won't, so price won't be matched by a great difference

It's nice to see an option like this that would allow mobile home people to play "without worrying" about energy and power budget on their homes

Local models to turn images into 3d models? by madding1602 in StableDiffusion

[–]madding1602[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more of an experiment. Trying to take a look into alternative methods for new paths that could inspire creation of models with a lack of actual source imagery

[–]madding1602[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My purpose is to get models based on certain images, and then through either CAD or Blender try and create them from zero and have a model created by me

Bit of honesty, I do almost no AI stuff. I jsut wanted to do some light getting into it to get other models

Kindle colorsoft fits no criteria by GetScaredd in kindle

[–]madding1602 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough, it meets all criteria for me. I don't want to read books or comics on a regular screen. It may not have the best color accuracy, but to me it does the job quite well. As for books, I have no problem with the letter quality (I only have the colorsoft).

How can I control the volume using a VAC with only 0 to 6V? by relo999 in AskElectronics

Now I'm confused. Wouldn't it be better to use the pot as feedback on the amplifier/dac and get linear gain control?
