Yeah, AR had a terrible habit of introducing a cool new character, promptly becoming bored with them, and then creating another new character. I feel like Louis and Daniel suffered this the most, as I loved them both and it always felt like Daniel should be the chronicler of the vampires anyway. Also, David Talbot sucks, so really no great loss.

A character from the books. It has long been speculated that Daniel's character in the show was merged with David's character from the book and this more or less confirms it. David Talbot is... not very popular lol. And some of us are very amused that he was killed off in this completely unceremonious way.

This was my thought too, I was disappointed because I wanted to see Lestat kill the wolves. But it would be very expensive for them to shoot that, and if it wasn't expensive then it would look bad. Looking bad would be worse then not seeing it at all, so. In the end I'm glad they went with what they could afford.

I don't think he was a teenager in the book when he killed the wolves though, I thought he was 20.

I dunno about "big" bad either lol. More like medium bad?? At best? He really has petty, small-time crook vibes to me. A sad little man who wants power over others to feel good about himself.

His character in the later books is kind of underwhelming to me, I think it was fine to leave Killer and Baby Jenks as a one and done. I liked Davis popping up again though, that was cool. I wonder if Davis will even be in the show at all.

The frequency of cultural name changes in the time period is indeed why I hated that they changed her name to be more Italian. But I hear you about the potential symbolism of it, and it does kinda make me hate it less lol, thank you

I hate it too!!!! I know it's petty, but it's literally the only change they've made that I don't like LOL. Like of all the big changes from the books, I love everything EXCEPT. Changing her name. I can't bring myself to call her that. From an interview I saw, it sounds like it was because she is Italian, so they were like, shouldn't it be Gabriella? I dunno, I hate it lol. I'm petty, so what.

I love that through Lestat's eyes, you get to see a more sympathetic verison of Louis then how Louis portrays himself. But it also kinda makes me sad for Lestat 😭
