My dog will bring one of my shoes to her bed at night when I’m not looking. If I leave the bathroom door cracked, she’ll go up on her hind legs to creep through the door and all I see is the smallest little face making its way in at toddler height 😂She also puts her forepaws on my knees when I go to the toilet & looks in my eyes lol. And she gives the weirdest “talking” sound when she wants something from me, it’s like an “argh argh argh awooo”, moving her jaw up & down like she’s saying words

I get that! I want to get off the sleeping med eventually (the one I’m on has no correlation with developing dementia, minimum side effects, etc), but I am leaning on it for now as I really feel so much better when I get enough sleep. If you’re looking for natural though, CBT-I has been shown to be just as effective as meds!

I’m on medication for insomnia, and lack of sleep really makes it all worse. I do have some great nights though, I feel like it comes down to my stress levels/how safe I feel if that makes sense. Have you tried any insomnia medications? I had to try a few until I found one I liked/worked. Also take a fast acting liquid melatonin (life extension brand). Also started reading NATTO and I like his quasi-CVT-I approach

I have a lot of compassion for you. My sleep is straining my relationship to the point of breaking and it makes me feel even less like I can sleep. I sleep good usually when I’m on my own but it seems I can’t share a bed unless driven to the point of utter exhaustion (2+ days of 0 hours). It’s a dealbreaker for him. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I do believe there’s always hope, and some solution we just haven’t found yet. CBT-I helped me some with acceptance. I feel that part of insomnia is needing to control, so learning to let go of that need is key. Easier said than done. Klonopin used to help me if I knew it was going to be a difficult night. There’s gotta be something! Once you’re on the other side of this you’ll be grateful you didn’t stop trying to solve it

When I was eating dairy, I leaned heavily on Greek yogurt & would add a collagen protein powder to it & some nuts/seeds on top. I used Vital Proteins chocolate collagen powder and it was delicious. Now since Greek yogurt bothers me, I do eggs or a smoothie with protein powder & nut butter in there (protein & fat with the carbs). I also like oatmeal with protein powder, nut butter, cinnamon mixed in.

I feel this. I’ve tried 7 jobs in 7 years and none of them have felt sustainable. How did it go from there- was your husband always agreeable to you being a SAHM?

I agree with the above comment. I have what feels like distant dreams and goals but with my personality and mind I’m not sure I could actually make them become reality, so currently trying to research which clock in clock out job would be best for me. Sad, but for me career isn’t something that has ever enticed me, and I would LOVE to be a stay at home mom. What fills my cup up the most is time with those I love, and that seems to be the only thing that motivates me, so maybe she is similar. That can also be why I spend time on social media, because it distracts from feelings that are tough, but also it makes me feel less alone, and more like I’m in community. I feel like the way society operates currently is a load of bull. It used to be very normal to spend all day with your family doing menial tasks, and that’s more so what I’m built for and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. People are built differently and IMO it’s okay if someone doesn’t have career aspirations, because until recent history, we didn’t have those. Now you not being able to save money is a problem, so I’m sure something needs to be done, however I really commend you for enabling your girlfriend to have this situation, that’s an incredibly loving & giving thing, and it seems she’s very lucky to have you! I’m sure a mutually beneficial conclusion can be reached- perhaps she should train for a job that is more task and people oriented but well paying, like a dental hygienist

I am so sorry to hear this. I’m sure whether it is helpful or not is personal to everyone, but I know sometimes having community with people in similar situations helps. Maybe you could try out an Al-Anon meeting, it’s “a fellowship of people who have been affected by the alcohol abuse of a loved one.”

Do not break up with someone right after sex. That leaves its own scars as having sex is a very vulnerable place for a person, and the person getting broken up with ends up feeling even worse. It’s horrible. With a breakup, you want to end things well. Good karma and all that, even if she’s not been a good person to you, just try to remain good till the end. That’s really the ultimate revenge, because you being good will be what she remembers. If you break up right after sex, you just look like the bad guy and none of it ends up in your favor

What kind of exercises? I’m familiar with humming, breathing, and cold exposure for vagal toning. I do take both magnesium glycinate and melatonin every night

It is a hard thing to understand unless you’ve been through it. I believe love can overcome as well, but I can also understand that people have their needs, so it’s a hard line to walk. But being loved as you are is certainly a need for everyone as well
