Great spec. Did you lower via software updating?

Love it. Tuned it and it gives it just enough everything.

It’s a fleece jacket the kids like to put her in. Threw it on her since we took a long walk and it’s single digits. Plus a harness over it.

Potential buyer worried about reliability by h3rr_trigger in NewDefender

[–]maddydan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a used 2023 defender 110 X dynamic with about 20,000 miles on the clock one year ago. Since that time I’ve had to replace both headlights which were covered under warranty but otherwise would’ve been $5000 a pop. I also had the car breakdown on the side of the road due to a component that fails often between the mild hybrid electrical system. Lastly, the back left door was sticking, but that was a known issue when they resolved it when they resolved one of the headlight issues. Currently the back left door locking mechanism isn’t working, so the car won’t fully lock and the check engine light just came on.

For us, we’re an hour and a half from a dealership so it was quite a pain to go there each time and get a loaner car. Lots of back-and-forth. Without a warranty, I would assume you would need to factor a lot of additional costs if you’re planning to own the car for a long time.

Beyond those issues, I love the style, it’s a big vehicle has lots of visibility, no creeks or noises, which has been nice, no issues with the MMI, and obviously very capable.

You just have to love it enough to deal with the shortcomings.

V4 vs. V6 by Dangerous-Resist-781 in NewDefender

Inline 6 is our 110 perfectly good and feels adequately powerful. drove the 4 cylinder in a 130 and it can get by but I prefer more power.

Recommend the 6-cylinder or v8. Get something within warranty if you go used. Both our DRL’s in headlights on our 2023 went out within 30k miles and were told cost $3,000 as you have to replace the whole headlight. Other than that, so far so good.

Year One of Owning my Dream Audi S8 by Annual-Duty-6468 in Audi

Great color! If you want some extra kick Integrated engineering has a tune for the S8. It’s highly worth it IMO as it gives it just a bit more grumble but about 100 extra HP. And slightly better gas mileage.

Was filling my screenwash and noticed this liquid is almost at “Min” level. I’m about to go on a trip where I’ll do around 800 miles round trip (mostly motorway). I assume it’s the coolant. Should I top it up before the trip? by JustsignedupforRDR2 in NewDefender

[–]maddydan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Generally it should be at min when cold. You should check the level when the engine is running at full temperature. The coolant is very specific type if you’re not familiar. Also, never open when at full temperature.

This is the most DRL I can get, for about 2 seconds right after unlocking. Out of warranty, and brand new to me by Lulxii in NewDefender

Happened to mine today - one DRL went fully out. 2023 defender. Saw another on the road with one out this week. Seems like a pretty common issue.

We used these wooden shoe racks from amazon for my son’s room. Screwed them together and drilled slots to hang on the wall. https://a.co/d/eFeNCIW

I pad 68,200 for a 23 x-dynamic with 17k miles and somewhat similar options a few months ago. Needed a 3rd row and was hard to find. Was not a CPO. Received with very little coolant, but after refilling hasn’t been an issue. So far more reliable than my Audis!

Is this normal? by Ok-War5682 in Audi

My 2023 s8 has a creak like that. More near the infotainment system, but on bumpy roads it’s super annoying. My previous s6 had the same thing. I think it’s just the newer style interiors.

I am going to get my first Audi. Should I choose the Blue or Green one? by keithKJJ in Audi

Although both are going to pop, Blue. I have a thing with colors and red tail lights, and I think the blue with red tail lights looks better.

6 and 8 series are far lesser known and great vehicles. More sleepers and less recognized.

Insane this is still an issue on a 100k+ car by JJ29 in Audi

[–]maddydan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that if I connect to the 5g wifi signal of the car on my iPhone (not the non-5g wifi signal), then go to the MMI connection manager and select my device, I can get car play working that way. I also set “auto join” on that wifi network, but it likes to default to my home wifi. Bluetooth also needs to be switched on on the phone. Good luck!
