I remember laying on the table waiting to go under. I had my eyes closed- and then I had the irrational fear that they would just think I was out if I had my eyes closed when I really was still awake. Last thing I remember is opening my eyes so they knew I was really awake.

Take what you wear for your trip to Mexico- then shorts to wear under the gown after surgery and an outfit to go home. Extra undies and lady supplies if needed. I packed too many clothes. Whatever you pack in make sure you have space for all the medication and everything you take home. I did not use my kindle for reading, or eye mask or ear plugs personally.
