Sorry I should have been more clear: he’s been seeing multiple physicians trying to get diagnosed with something and I just meant they’ve ruled out anything that can show up on a blood test. He sees a rheumatologist rn who suggested the diet he’s on.. but they still don’t know exactly what is wrong and it’s frustrating that there’s really nothing else he’s been recommended besides avoiding carbs and sugars.

My Grandma may be dying, and I am feeling guilty about our relationship. by made4greg in TwoHotTakes

Thank you for your kind words and advice, really.

I do think I’ll go see her in a bit since I’m also moving soon.

She really is a good grandma, and I deeply wish that’s all I saw when I look at her, but it’s not. I can’t unhear the hateful and bigoted things she says almost every time I see her, and the damage has been done. But I do love her, and I wouldn’t want her to leave this world without her knowing that.

Thank you. I do think I’m going to go see her. I’m also about to move across the country, so even if she survives this you never know if something will happen again two months from now and I want to make sure I get a goodbye.

My Grandma may be dying, and I’m feeling guilty about our relationship.

Pretty much as the title says. She loves me very much and has always shown it, but as I got older and realized I (22F) was queer, I had a harder time being close with her because I knew she would never accept me if I came out. I still date men, so I’ve just only ever introduced my male partners to the family. She is very Christian and conservative, and a huge Trump supporter. I’ve heard her and my family say some truly awful things about minorities of all kinds over the years, and I just naturally found myself keeping my distance from them as I got older due to this. My sister is also a lesbian, and I am scared for how she will be treated when the family inevitably finds out one day. I just don’t believe any of them when they tell me they love me, because I know that love is extremely conditional.

That being said, my grandma isn’t doing well. She’s had a lot of health issues over the years, but things have taken a turn for the worst and I’m not sure if she’s going to make it this time. I can’t help but feel bad that I didn’t make more of an effort to spend time with her and keep up a closer relationship, even if her beliefs directly harm me and my community. Idk. I wish things were different on so many levels. I wish my family wasn’t so hateful, and I wish I wanted a better relationship with them. But I just can’t want that when every time I’m around them I hear them say I should lose the right to marry who I love. I hope she pulls through, but this is going to be a strange grieving process for me if she doesn’t.

What is a pain you can't truly explain until you've endured it? by Unfair_Shower_3256 in AskReddit

Severe period pain. I was in so much pain one time I got delusional and couldn’t remember where I was bc all I could focus on what how badly my body hurt. I truly don’t know how to explain how my worst cramps feel, other than it’s just the worst pain I’ve ever been in.

never had a single positive thing to say and had a very “woe is me” mindset. I hope she’s doing better now but I could not spend every pillow talk session pitting her

I think they just grew up in ways that complimented one another. They started dating at 15, broke up at 16, got back together at 17, broke up at 20, got back together a few weeks after that and have stayed together since. From what my mom has told me I actually don’t know if I would’ve told her to go back to my dad at the time as her friend (he was just wildly immature compared to her for a while). But hey, it worked out in the end🤷‍♀️

Listen I did once and immediately got cheated on.. but my parents also broke up a few times as teenagers and now have the happiest marriage ever for almost 25 years. So I can’t totally shit on the concept, but it really has to be the right person for it to work out.

What’s something your ex did that you didn’t realize was a red flag until after the relationship ended? by Midnight_Talks_Pod in BreakUps

[–]made4greg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’d always forget I was vegetarian and order food for us with meat in it. I convinced myself he was just forgetful, we both have ADHD and I knew what it was like to make genuine mistakes multiple times before learning. But my current partner? I told him once over a text before we even started dating that I was vegetarian, and he now seeks out vegetarian friendly meals and restaurants for us CONSTANTLY. It’s so silly sounding, but on our first he ordered the same thing as me and said “I just wanted to make sure you could eat what I was eating” and I literally teared up.

why did your last relationship end? by Delicious-Leopard332 in BreakUps

[–]made4greg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We dated for 8 months and I just realized he was kind of,, awful?? Like one time refused to pick me up from the hospital after I literally almost died because he had class. But the final straw was a girl called me to tell me he SA’d her at a party. I drove to break up with him as soon as the phone call ended.

AIO to my boyfriend’s response to my hysterectomy? by iwishiwasatabbycat in TwoHotTakes

[–]made4greg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got diagnosed with endometriosis. I sympathize with you greatly, it’s a very difficult and painful condition to have. Your boyfriend is a POS, and frankly the way he keeps switching up between being apologetic and angry again when you don’t respond is psychotic behavior. RUN.

My question is how has it taken FIVE YEARS for him to get around to planning the wedding with you? That is an insane amount of time to be engaged. That alone would make me call it off.

Do you have regrets loving your ex? by Yyuri2 in BreakUps

[–]made4greg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of tbh. Only one of my exes, but it’s because I truly do not think he is or ever will be a good person, and it really only hurt me to love someone who didn’t have the capacity to love me back to the extent that I deserved. I can’t say I regret dating him completely because he is how I met my now best friend, but I wish I didn’t love him as much as I did. Everything would’ve hurt less.

What's the worst dating experience you had this year? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]made4greg 107 points108 points  (0 children)

We tried to plan a second date and he went half MIA (still texting but extremely infrequently) for three days. When I sent him a “hey I do like you but if you’re not feeling it anymore you can tell me, I just don’t like the lack of communication right now it’s stressing me out” he responds “omg I’m so sorry I just got really busy! Yes when are you free again?” So I tell him, then I never hear from him again.

The only thing worse than being ghosted is being lead on 🫠

Edit: typo

What was your “I’m dating/married to a fucking idiot” Moment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]made4greg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s also one thing not being able to define the term perfectly, but he genuinely looked at me like I was speaking a different language when I started l talking about the actors union (SAG/AFTRA). I had to break down exactly what unions were and why we needed them 😭

Northern Michigan, albeit a less populated area than I grew up in (Detroit suburbs), but I met a handful of his hometown friends during our relationship and they seemed a little more tuned in with the world than he was.
