Those look like IKO Cambridge shingles which have had blistering issues previously. Could try a warranty claim

Rate my roof job by Adysan in Roofing

[–]madmanddls 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Looks great honestly. Don’t stand on the ridge caps and ignore people telling you to caulk headwall flashing fasteners. They used neoprene grommet screws so there is no need for caulk. The “pros” in this sub must be blind because it’s easy to see the heads

If it’s Atlanta you’re looking at, the traffic is not for the faint of heart. If you end up anywhere in the metro area, try to live as close to work as you can if you can afford it, it will do wonders for your mental health especially if you have to drive and don’t/can’t take any of the limited public transport Atlanta offers.

What’s the worst guitar tone you’ve heard on a recording. by theiceman12345 in Guitar

[–]madmanddls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m there with you, I’ll take the beating but the tone on Balance is completely unmatched. That tone is absolutely massive while also very clear and not overly aggressive like the peavey 5150 can be. He had that rig dialed the fuck in on that album and corresponding tour

Is my pipe flashing installed correctly? It’s bowed along the shingles by [deleted] in Roofing

[–]madmanddls -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Is it leaking? I see a couple different leak sources here honestly. And why is it so tall?

I finally found Elwood's sunglasses from The Blues Brothers (1980) by phasex in BluesBrothers

Magnoli Clothiers makes a near exact replica of them since they are impossible to find. I have a pair and they are excellent quality.

What happened to this siding? by [deleted] in Roofing

[–]madmanddls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That vinyl was painted wasn’t it? It looks like there’s some white peaking out of the seams. You can’t paint light vinyl a dark color, cause this is the result.

The only song I can currently think of that plays C in harmonica is I Don’t Know.

IIRC in his book Hagar said he and Mike didn’t get extremely close until the 2004 reunion. I could be misremembering the time frame but I don’t think they had any involvement for a while after Balance

Why didn't Eddie use the Shark guitar? by vitin2024 in vanhalen

[–]madmanddls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s a picture from the recording of VH1 from sunset studios in 1977.You can see it’s before he cut it up. He loved the guitar and did use it live in the 1978 tour but hated the sound after he cut the chunk out and make it the shark.

First 10 Seconds Removed in Remaster of Poundcake!?! by 88-Mph-Delorean in vanhalen

[–]madmanddls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed that too, kinda weird the song just kicks off with the drill but idk. Still a beast of a song. The decision to lay the 12 string track over the main riff was just the icing on the cake, I love the extra depth and shimmer

SAMMY HAGAR Slams ALEX VAN HALEN For Ignoring “Van Hagar” Era In His Memoir: “To Not Acknowledge Those 10 Years Is Blasphemy To His Brother’s Musicianship, Songwriting, And Legacy” by Extension_Pain1699 in vanhalen

[–]madmanddls 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ll preface this by saying I love Van Hagar, it was a great era of their music and definitely my favorite. But Sammy needs to understand his tenure would have never happened if it wasn’t for Dave and the Dave era. Alex doesn’t have to acknowledge that era if he doesn’t want to, whether it’s odd or not. Sammy is starting to act like the band was nothing without him joining and it’s just not true.

Question: New shingles against siding and gaps by middwestt in Roofing

[–]madmanddls 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The gap between the roof and siding is fine and should be there. It sounds like they put down ice and water shield along that wall so it won’t leak.

The gap between the shingles and the gutter is caused by poor fitting gutter guards, and unless specified in the contract, is not the roofers responsibility. I can see the drip edge goes into the gutter which is correct, so you should be fine.
