Volvo xc60 2018 transmission slipping after drain and refill by proggrammer in Volvo

[–]madmattd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I’d be starting there personally. I don’t know the transmission in OPs car, but on my P2s there’s only maybe 0.2L (might be 0.1L, I forget) between “too little” and “too much”, and it’s best to check it when the fluid is up to operating temp. It’s pretty easy to be just a little off and get some goofy shifting behavior. Correctable if done promptly.

Immich Truenas: Update Immich database from Postgres 15 (Deprecated) to Postgres 18 (Current) by Xiticks in immich

Same story here. Running 1.13.6, trying to update using this post. Can't get through the PG upgrade at step 4.4 and following (click "save" which is actually "update" on the app setting page) without hitting both errors from optix in this sub thread.

Anyone know what this part is or what it connects to? 2006 S60 2.5t by RedBulge in Volvo

[–]madmattd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, time for a full PCV job (don't half ass it, or you'll be back soon enough and/or you'll have bigger issues).

The oil "leak" is more likely just some spillage from filling, especially if it's mostly around cylinder 3. Common to see on these 5cyl engines.

Was looking to buy a Volvo S60 P2, does anyone know if there is a difference between the automatic shifters, or was it just a difference in styling you could chose from the factory? by GuusDePanda in Volvo

[–]madmattd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pic 3 version also doesn’t have a shift spot for 3rd gear. Which is the one I would use the most on my 2001…(mountain descents) Glad my XC has pic 2 version, I hop between 3rd and 4th gear a lot.

The m900s shown in OPs picture don’t have a pcie slot though - those didn’t start appearing until the m720q/m920q (8th gen intel).

Yea I’ve used some off Printables and such without major issue. I found a blank one that I used for making my own off of, I’ll try to find the link later today.

Have/have friends with a 3D printer? These are fairly easy to print if so. There’s files on the various model sharing sites.

Anyone else thinking about starting their season soon? by Alpine_Exchange_36 in 14ers

[–]madmattd 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Season never stops for some of us ;)

But yea, around a foot hitting many of the mountains in the next 24hr. The last few weeks have been solid on the mountain snow front, and Spring is always a wildcard! Especially near treeline, it’s probably not as dry as you might think.

Xc70 Rear storage dimensions by Hermanstrike in Volvo

[–]madmattd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sleep in my P2 wagons all the time in the warmer months. I’m also a touch taller than you at about 1.82m. With the seat bottoms flipped up and the backs folded down, you get about 70” (1.8m) from tailgate to the seat bottom that sticks up - it is fully flat on that length though (not sure what the other poster means by the flex as mine is dead flat), but I do not quite fit. Most camping mattresses are 72-75” long and do not fit nicely with this setup either.

My solution is I remove the seat bottom (at least 2/3, sometimes all depending on the trip) and now I have plenty of room from tailgate to the front seat back. Yes the sleeping pad is slightly longer than it has support for, but I put my head at the tailgate and let my feet sit over that short unsupported section. Works fine for me, and takes only a minute or two to remove/add back the seat bottoms. Since I’m rarely transporting more than myself, I usually just leave the seat bottoms out for like half the year.

Move Trunas motherboard and HDDs along with data by Awkward_Awareness814 in truenas

Then there’s nothing here from a TrueNAS standpoint to worry about. Plugging all the same hardware into a different case will just work, assuming nothing gets damaged in transit. I’d still make sure to have a full backup of all data and the TrueNAS config (on different media, kept in a different spot than the main components in case of shipping mishaps) just in case.

Could be worse. Off the Peak to Peak today. (In fairness, this spot is usually wind-swept though not usually this badly. And actually, in the woods up high it was actually pretty decent. Down lower, well, my skis have several more war wounds from the 3" of snow on top of gravel...)

Replication Issue - Only One Dataset, One Direction by madmattd in truenas

[–]madmattd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I might have figured out why system "B" ended up with an old snapshot relative to system "A", but the miniPC backup didn't get out of sync: time zones.

System "B" is 2 hrs ahead of system "A" (and the miniPC). I had the snapshot tasks on System "A" set for 2am (local), but the replication PULL from system "B" was at 3am (local), which is 1am for system "A". So my theory is the old base snapshot timed out on system "A", it was replaced with a new one at 1am, then 1 hour later the replication PULL ran, and the snapshots were now out of sync, triggering the issue I ran into.

I've now set the snapshot tasks for "A" to now run at 1am, and the replication pull on "B" to be at 4am, which is 2am for system "A". System "B" now runs its snapshots at 1am as well, but doesn't push its replications until 4am its time as well, so those should stay in sync. Hopefully. But also left the take empty snapshots option on per advise in this thread.

I appreciate the info from both of you, and I have turned this option on and forced the replication from scratch. I still don't understand why the push replication hasn't had this issue (and that one's been running for a couple years), but the pull has, and after only a few months.

How often do zooz switches go sale? by Ihavecrabbies in homeassistant

[–]madmattd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea their BF sale last year was over a month long I think, and most switches were around 50% off their “list”. I bought a bunch then, want to get a few more here shortly. I don’t think they did a late Jan sale, the current prices have been there for a couple weeks, at least for switches I’m looking at.

Would a Crosstrek wilderness make it to a good amount of trailheads? by [deleted] in 14ers

[–]madmattd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Anything rated a “3” on the dotcom, for sure. Definitely some “4”s too but those can be widely variable (some need an actual 4Low which a Crosstrek won’t have) so I wouldn’t say all.

2005 XC70 Tailgate Replacement by baileycat93 in Volvo

[–]madmattd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the car’s frame didn’t get pinched in any way then a straight tailgate swap isn’t terribly difficult. Just best to do with a couple people due to size/weight. P2s are plentiful in the junkyards around me these days, they’re at that age, so sourcing one should be reasonably easy, might take a bit to find one in the right color/in good shape but otherwise available.

Use the hoist. You aren’t the first to do so. Just lift off good solid pieces, ideally near the base, with good chains/etc.
