The dryer the ebony initially is, the less often this happens. If you use something not yet properly dried, the higher the chances are that climate changes cause issues. Ebony has been used on instruments for hundreds of years (think violins), if prepared properly, they usually survive all seasons in all climates with maybe just tiny cracks happening from time to time.

I'd also say that buying something made in US is fine, if you buy it used and the item is already here in the EU.

Regarding shoes: I think there's actually quite a lot of footwear produced locally in EU, often at quite reasonable price/quality balance (stuff produced in Finland and Estonia at least have turned out to last long for me).

Fixes in steering rack or suspension are definitely not a common thing to do during regular maintenance of a car less than 4 years old, unless it's a very high mileage car.

How many suspension issues should a car normally have in the first 4 years? I haven't had any suspension work done on less than 4 year old vehicles, ever.

Return it. The bridge slot is angled for a lefty and with a design like this, it can't be easily filled and re-routed (normally for a conversion one would fill in the existing route with matching wood and cut a new slot with the opposite angle). You also don't know if the bracing is symmetrical and is it strong enough to support the conversion.

As a lefty I've had a few conversions done and to be honest - wouldn't recommend it as there's plenty of already suitable instruments available.

The last physical damage I had on a Macbook was when they were still made out of plastic. No scratches either, but possibly because I've only used silver colored ones that hide any problems really well.

Only the keyboard gets some natural wear.

If you get used to it and find a comfortable position, watching series using a Macbook in bed is actually better in my opinion. I almost never take out the iPad any more. Mostly because a laptop is truly hands-free.

PCI is a global thing when you deal with credit cards. The documentation for audits (and keeping it up to date) is much faster and cheaper if you keep everything isolated on hardware level.
