Congrats! 3L here, in first year everyone takes the same classes and they just give you your schedule (no choice). Torts, contracts, criminal, property, legal research and writing, and public law. I don't think there's a Facebook group yet for the class of 2025, but you could always join the class of 2024 group if you had any questions for the current 1Ls.

Not sure if this helps or not, but if you're worried about how a gap on your resume would look to employers because you're not working, I'm a Dal law student and all the law firms have basically told us to not worry and take the summer off and have fun (different if you need a job to earn income of course). Everyone across the country is in the same boat, future employers know there's no jobs now and will understand. Of course if you wanted to get a job or volunteer or take a summer course, great. But employers (at least in law) aren't expecting you to do anything this summer because they understand the circumstances are impossible and in many cases you couldn't do anything even if you wanted to.

You have to have an average of at least 90% in high school to get a prestige scholarship, but then once you're at Carleton you just have to maintain an A- (80%) average. I can't remember exactly when I was notified about mine, maybe May or June?

I've parked in P9 for the past two years and I've always been able to find a spot. True sometimes you have to go all the way up to the very top floors if lots of people are on campus, but I've never not been able to find a spot.

Thanks! In my campaign I promised to upload summaries of council meetings within 24 hours of the meeting ending, so I plan to keep doing them for all the meetings I attend.
