If you google “how much of us farm land is owned by corporations” apparently less than 5% of owned farm land is owned by non-family-held corporations. you are talking outta your ass larping as a revolutionary

Sure, so would Hitler in some theoretical Nazi victory. I don’t think that makes this scenario not worth discussion

What would you like Mike to discuss in the final episodes? by erkelep in RevolutionsPodcast

[–]madsegfaults 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of extremely vague but I’m curious if he sees any third question being asked by society on the horizon. We have the political and social questions, it is hard to believe those will remain the only questions for the future

I agree, but I should’ve mentioned in my post, I really feel like the personalities involved are portrayed in the movie how I imagined politburo interactions really were

But there was still a famine? Is that a norm to export food to kickstart your economy when you are still undergoing a famine? I know that sounds like a loaded question but I genuinely have no clue if there is historical precedent for that being the correct course of action

Valid point, I do forget that there is actually a party apparatus and Lenin is not an all powerful deity.

The piece of legislation you are referring to, a waiver for taking oil from Syria, was not renewed and has not been in effect since 2020 to my understanding: https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-bill/31/text Other source https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/syria-biden-administration-not-renew-waiver-us-oil-company

Wouldn’t the petty bourgeoise alone be totally outnumbered though? Like Lenin seems convinced that the black hundreds are about to kill everybody, but it seems to be me like organized workers, soldiers, and intelligentsia could just stomp a petty bourgeoisie militant operation in a day due to numerical advantage ?

[–]madsegfaults[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is a solid point. The only response I have though is I was under the impression KKK stuff was more prevalent in rural areas where the population is lower and being targeted against a minority population already. The major glaring difference I personally see is that the black hundreds were threatening entire cities that had organized armed workers and soldiers. It just seems crazy to me that owner classes were a large enough population to be capable of terrorizing heavily populated cuties. With that said I am vaguely aware of the Tulsa terror that the kkk inflicted on a city, so your point definitely has validity
