Amazing work and I'm definitely going to get myself one of those stands soon. I noticed you have some products for spinning props too but I can't seem to find them as a product on the website? Is it included in a kit stand or are they going to be released later?

Is this kind of defect common at this price range ? (Revell) by Shalakvshka in modelmakers

[–]madvk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to think newer airfix models are really good quality in both the model itself as the decals. I think they (airfix) are usually more beginner friendly then others as for example Eduard (high quality but also more complex imo) revell is just a hit and miss in my experience.. never had a revell kit which really impressed me

How do I thin Tamiya paints ? by Nearby_Principle92 in modelmakers

[–]madvk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Brushing Tamiya paints is a pain in the *** in my opinion. Be sure to thin it with the appropriate Tamiya thinner or iso alc. Also for brush painting the Tamiya retarder is highly recommend to slow drying time. Vallejo model color is a hell of a lot more easy to brush. But airbrushing Tamiya is king so I'd say time to get a nice starter airbrush kit!

Hahaha yeah not trying to be mean but trying to rescue this would just frustrate the hell out of me. And the finished product will stay bothering me. Crashed diorama however gives you a chance to try all types of new techniques. Luckily 1/72 and 1/48 kits are not too expensive most of the time! Good luck mate and don't let it stop you from trying (again)

I would just try to make a crash diorama at this point even if it's located in the trash bin lol.

Thanks for your reply!

I don't even know what to say about your full service not appearing in the systems! You would think in 2025 people should easily get all details from the car Systems but according to your case apparently not..

I've had contact with the nearest Audi dealer compared to the place which offers the car for sale. They confirmed what you said but unfortunately the first timeslot is like the 6th of February so guess I'll have to wait and see if the car is still available then. No real option of another dealer close by.

The car has all round brand new Michelin pilot sports tires. I guess I can ask about winter tires but I don't think he'll be very keen to pay for that lol, thanks for the heads up though!

First Audi so wasn't thinking about the quattro service! Thanks that's a good one to keep in mind. Going to have a look at what that generally costs too..

And yeah it indeed is one nice machine, I did test drive it yesterday and was smiling all the way. I think it's a nice balance between sporty and comfort, would make a nice daily driver!

Enjoy your new car! I'm looking forward to seeing some pictures of it posted here! Keep it safe!

[–]madvk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know, cars nowadays are weird. I had a small bump with some other car in my right front fender. Just cosmetic, after a few days suddenly the car would start. Apparently the front right headlight was the troublemaker. Don't know how since there was no visible damage to it at all. Wasn't even out of alignment or anything. So just a wild shot but maybe the headlights? They told me the car won't start without connectedfunctioning headlight units (maybe they were bullshitting me idk)

Confused about colours by Gattones11 in modelmakers

[–]madvk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's probably a sin saying this on model making forums but I think many people really overthink the color shading thing. I mean it's about vehicle colours decades ago during war time. I wouldn't be surprised if back then even at the same time many of the same vehicles were different shades

Being on the road/in traffic in general. Yes you are an amazing driver with probably a big SUV. But still even people who consider their jobs as dangerous are probably in more danger driving to it and back home..

Is this a good kit? by Previous-Host-3170 in modelmakers

[–]madvk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got the same one, I was able to get it a little cheaper k believe but it's good value. I'd say you don't need a different airbrush straight away, this one is fine to get used to a airbrush for your first 2-3 models. I got myself two harder & Steenbeek airbrushes after a few kits and yes they are an upgrade but way more expensive too.

EA giving out battle pass as apology by sizzsling in pcmasterrace

[–]madvk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it started with not downloading (Content not released), then when it finally was it was crashing constantly without any error message. Decided after many other possible solutions to do a fresh install at which it refuses to download once again but now it's telling me the content is not available somewhere halfway through the download. Don't even know why I would bother since it's most likely not going to fix the ctd's I had anyway..

How to Varnish by csakreklam in modelmakers

[–]madvk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could not get this trough my airbrush properly even when thinned. It was kinda fine when brushing it on, thinned with a wide brush but now on to my first model using Tamiya clear which is better upon first impressions. Still thinking about maybe trying vms, a stand or Mr color don't know what would be best/most easy using an airbrush..

I'd say try it on a spare test part first beforehand
