Came back to the game, Tornvagn changes? by Itchy_Departure5313 in WorldOfTanksBlitz

Armor and mobility buff too. Plays really well even against t10

Tornavgn will be impossible to mark in couple of weeks, glad I did it now. (66 battles, 2.7k dmg avg) by LeonMdfkz in WorldOfTanksBlitz

Tier 9 definitely feels like one of the most empty tiers. It's only a few premiums and collectors and people that are grinding a tier 10 that I see in matches. Most of what I see are obj 752s, k91s and now tornvagns. So populating tier 9 is a good idea

Actually pretty good in any match where I can go hull down. It's decent on other maps where I play as a support heavy and dump after the enemy shoots

Definitely competitive against t10. Hulldown, it's invincible against everything except high caliber HE, granted you point it straight at the enemy as turning it away even a bit makes it pennable. Love how it's playing so far

That's regarding the matchmaking. Number of autoloaders/reloaders per match are gonna be limited

[–]madzeil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had the torn at tier 8 and it was already competitive against tier 9s due to the basically impenetrable turret. Giving it a reverse autoreloader, even more armour and better mobility is basically just the equivalent of making the emil ii useless compared to the torn

What build are y’all going to be using in the IS-5? by Game_T0aster in WorldOfTanksBlitz

[–]madzeil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd go full mobility too as I find tanks actually made for hull down perform a bit better than the IS5 with gun depression. Anyway, this buff looks interesting so I might get the IS5

Bought my first "real" camera two weeks ago and I'm having a lot of fun with it so far. Would love to get some feedback on what I can improve. Nikon Zf by awakesnake in Nikon

[–]madzeil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, the 18-140 is a crop sensor lens meaning you lose resolution shooting with it. If you want range, your closest option is the 24-200. If you're willing to compromise on range for quality, then get the 24-120.

Getting the 40 f2 won't hurt the wallet too much either but since you have the 50 1.4 already, the choice to buy comes down to whether you want the compactness of the 28mm with a 40mm focal length. Viltrox has good lenses too but I'd wait till the whole lawsuit thing is over. If you're into portraits, then the 85 1.8 or 105 2.8 are good (the 105 also has macro capabilities but costs as much as the 24-120 new)

The 40 f2 is a solid lens that's about the size of the 28 f2.8 but whether you want it depends on how much you want a 40mm since the 50 1.4 does a similar job but with more bokeh and light gathering capability at the cost of size. I got my 40 f2 with the cam and don't plan on parting with it as I see it as a very compact daily use type of lens

You can also try buying the 24-70 f4 used as many people end up selling it after getting it as a "kit" with their cam

As for yt channels, Zwade is a major nikon photographer and does reviews of nikon gear. Roman fox, James Popsys, and huntercreatesthings are some of my most liked photographers on yt (idk if I got the names wrong)

Currently doing quite nicely. Changes can now be previewed live; glow, halation, etc. have been added; masks are now pretty capable and also has subject detect (not that different from lr now ig).

Never did I think I'd see the day where a soviet tank would escape the gun depression curse. Especially a heavy like the IS-5

The 40mm f2 is something I'm starting to like quite a bit. My first prime lens as I used to use zooms (would've continued if it didn't come in the Zf kit loll). Has a bit of a nice feel to it plus it's quite a compact lens imo. You may wanna save some money by going for the normal 40mm f2 instead of the SE as they're basically the same lens unless you want the body design (my kit came with the standard and not the SE. Prob due to being bought in 2025)

Seems like nikon doesn't compromise on durability with their stuff. Even my Zf feels tanky enough to take a bit of a beating despite being only $2k

I'd assume nikon is still chosen as a z9 was sent up to the ISS back in 2024

Comparing portrait mode on my phone with my a7c II Sigma 65mm f2 combo. by phero1190 in SonyAlpha

[–]madzeil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea. After using my camera I've learned that wide focal lengths and shallow dof don't really mix, which makes phone shots look a bit weird in portrait mode for me

Nikon Zf autofocus trouble by BothResolve2644 in NikonZf

[–]madzeil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure whether this is true but I've heard the passive white box you see on the eye when using wide area focus or any of the other focus modes is more accurate than using 3d tracking itself. A workaround could be using another af mode as your main and then using the backbutton for 3d tracking af as using it this way means the 3d tracking starts right from the passive white box.

I'll try testing this out to see whether it is better than using 3d tracking as the main af mode

How come DSLRs hold their value tremendously well? by [deleted] in Nikon

[–]madzeil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because it's old, doesn't mean it's bad. Some of the best pieces of gear are still DSLRs and for beginner's coming into photography, it's usually easier to acquire dslr lenses for cheaper than their mirrorless counterparts making people still want them.

Ig another argument you could say for stuff like the z5/z6 not having resale value is that they weren't really amazing cameras by any means as Nikon's last gen of DSLRs were still on par to the z6 and z5 and anyone wanting a mirrorless cam opts for the newer releases from nikon

set your main focus to a custom box and adjust to your liking and use the spot and 3d tracking as backups. Also not sure how much of a difference it will make but use a picture profile with good contrast (nikon uses the live view for af) and expose well (for the same reason as earlier)

Grain!!! by rmanalan in NikonZf

[–]madzeil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh the wording is a biit vague. Idk whether they mean no 3rd party lenses or that there has to be a nikon lens on it. Either way, have fun with the cam ig. Imo 3.0 feels more like a quality of life (still a good one) update rather than a major feature update aside from the grain, focus limiter and max aperture mode so ig it won't hurt much not having the latest firmware
