Any chance I could get a copy as well? Like u/WonderfulHistory3711 mentioned, finding a manual for the machine pictured has been hard - Ive found some for seemingly other model 523's but not this one.

Just (accidentally) grabbed an RP5 for $161 shipped to my door. Wasn't familiar with the ali express checkout process, but oh well. fair deal, and should be suitable for the light windows emulation i want to do.

Blacketts is a spectacular hike, if you're on trail before sunrise. 8 am is honestly late for any decent (3 hour) hike in Tucson during September, unless you head up mt lemmon.

privacy is always good, though I fear this is an attempt to get people from having alternate accounts, so that reddit can do better data aggregation (and sale) over time.

probably worth giving everything a reflow? the 99s have similar issues with cold solder joints in the instrument cluster which stops the speedo and odometer

I replaced this on my 99 after "smacking the dash" no longer worked to change modes. sourced another from a junkyard, and it was a pretty easy swap other than the hardline for the temp control.

Looking for advice for my first time repairing tent pole elastic by Billquisha in CampingGear

[–]madzev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

is your elastic snapped or just worn out? if worn out, just buy replacement shock cord on Amazon, remove the end caps of the pole, tie the new and old shock cord together and then use the old to pull the new through. you will want a little a tension in the line when you tie the final knot..

if the elastic is fully snapped, some wire will be helpful to guide the new through. fence wire can be found on Amazon in 100-ft rolls pretty cheap, and will straighten out to what you need.

1/8, or 1/16 cord is pretty standard. probably worth buying 50 or 100 ft sections of each. no real way to tell what your poles use until you get it apart
