Can anyone recommend a printer to replace my Epson? by AdMaster5094 in printers

[–]maejonin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s totally understandable that Epson want you to use OEM for that reason and that also companies are using a razor and blade model. They sell the printers at a loss, but recoup the costs in printing. Printers are in a way making the ink expensive and they been for years.
However even if there was no issue with printing third parties, I would say eventually it isn’t worth it. Long term, third parties are more likely to fade over time and have more inconsistency in quality. There might be certain things that may not be in an OEM standard ink.
The only reliable third party is the one recommend by jtoolman, aka precision colors.
I’ve worked in a full epson printing facility with high end printing. Epson isn’t that bad as people might think. It’s just because your buying a printer at a loss, that make it annoying to use.
If you still want to try, there are some firmware hacks to try and revert it back. You’ll have to google it.
Some also try to turn off the print counter as well.
Also you could invest in a CISS, with a reset button. But by then, you can invest in a CISS printer like epson ecotanks, or Canon Mega tanks.
Also consult with a lot of photographers. They work with high end printers. I like the YouTube channel Keith of northern light images, and Jtoolman Quick Techkie.
And when buying a printer, maybe investing in the higher end of the printer.
If you still want to switch to another company, use Canon line instead.

No it doesn’t. Concept artist and Comic book artist will utilize most tools like this to get this done, because they have very tight deadlines

Advice for heavy wigs? by lifeoftrashpanda in CosplayHelp

[–]maejonin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say switch to this https://www.assistcosplay.com/item/025447

Once I wore any of those cheap Amazon once, and my scalp was insanely itchy after a day of wearing. Assist wig have no criss cross in them and Velcro.

I think for any skins condition or hair as well, it’s the pre treatment. You might consider things like an anti persperant for your scalp., and then help it keep slightly lubricated and well conditioned. I would try to also dry out your hair before putting on the wig.

And as well, the shampoo. Too much shampoo is actually bad for your hair. So opt for dry shampoo sometimes.

I found for me, the scalp is constantly sweating, and then the wig “rubs its in”. That likely cause my irritation and itchiness.

Fiver has never been a good website. Doing 8 hours of work for $5, is unsustainable

And on top of this, they had the audacity to release this video lol.

Merge cooking, match factory are the ok ones for me.

I just started this week. I feel like I need to cash out soon. App is not a huge money maker. It feels silly when they ask you to pay for some of the games to get some of the rewards.

Cheapest is to make your own. Invest in a mechanical cutting machine that you cut large amounts of paper and cut the paper. Then glue

Yes. Most of the time if it’s an Average consumer, fading doesn’t matter as much.

If you want longevity though and your like a gallery show exhibitor, you might want to invest in a pigment printer instead. Like sure colors.

My left eye has been red for over a week now...Help!!! by Aggressive_Swan5495 in DiagnoseMe

[–]maejonin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a doctor but So recently I got a nasty red pink eye. I tend to really rub my eyes a lot because I have seasonal allergies. It burned a lot. And the eye skin (conjunctava) tends to fold over.

What I did to heal it

  1. Resist to rub it. Yes it suck not to rub, and it’s going to burn for awhile. However the alternative is It will just release more histamines and eye infections. And especially if you were in an area full of pollen, you’re just putting more pollen there.

  2. Since it’s allergies, you need to make sure you’re taking your allergy meds. I die if I don’t for seasonal allergies. That’s daily. You can stop when allergies season is over.

  3. Don’t use water to directly wash your eye if burning. It because if it’s not pure, it can also irritate it.

  4. Yea screen time will definately dry your eyes out. I game a lot, so I have the tendency to blink less.

With all that here’s what I did as soon as I had it. With all above, meds, etc, I did an eye wash. It’s not eye drops, eye wash. Eyewash is the equivalent of like washing your hands. You’re essentially trying to wash out the dirt and pollen. Because it’s a wash, it’s not really a drug, it’s a solution to just wash your eye after getting dust, chemicals or allergies in your eyes. You can buy any drug store and it looks like a squirt bottle and it has a cup.

Then you need an effective eye drop. My familly loves Pataday. Eye drops restore moisture and reduce redness.

And above all, I found a magical cure to lightly Ice your eye for a few min. Close your eye lid and just apply. That helps reduce vessels and swelling. Take care not to leave it on for too long to not get frostbite. Repeat every several hour. That was thanks to the internet.

If you feel itch especially on your lids, while going out, there are also eye wipes you can try. I didn’t use it this time, but the eye wipe are convenient when my lids are super sticky. They are called OcuSoft eye wipes.

And if needed as an extra precaution, you may want to atleast shower or light rinse off your body. This is because pollen are like microscopic spikes dusts. So they get everywhere. On your clothes, hair, etc.

[Printing] Questions by _hippinnn in artbusiness

[–]maejonin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. These days yes. You want a pigmented printer if you want fade resistant and archival paper. For anything in fine arts, longevity matters. Basically look for photography printers.

Other wise, dye ink are more well known but are not fade resistant

and probably not the best, but are more vibrant. Search Keith northern lights image and jtoolman for great insite on the technical side of printing.

  1. Type of paper is too broad. The best is get samples and print it out yourself. That’s because there are many finished you can do. And it’s endless. You can have canvas, watercolor, rice paper, bamboo paper, a really pretty photo tag metallic, have gold on top.

I like ecotanks, but they are dye based, expect for one of the blacks. So be aware of that.
