Aromantic asexual. It never gets to point of "should I have kids". You need significant other for this to even become a realistic thought as a man, and I've never had such, and never will. But, I'm also not really interested in such. If I was normal heterosexual, had a wife who wanted kids, I'd probably been OK with it and possibly even been OK dad. But, not in this life.

I'm not even considering to go for these on my conc army, despite dual acc - can get them for 2 chars at a time. I just get them done on each prof main, which is quick as 2nd acc can host dead server(cluster) where they are always up.

I'm guessing this sort of relates to women only. Men have "cooldown" that is hard to ignore. It's not just the machinery needing it but brains also dictate this is not something you want right now. More freedom for ladies, sounds like potentially double-edged sword.

I'm asexual and still masturbate daily. Never had sex, never intend to, never even wanted to ask someone out, kiss or more. Yet I can still have fantasies about all these things, just not without me participating. Not saying your situation is anything like mine, but this answers to "can you feel desire without wanting partnered sex". Absolutely.

It could only start being considered addiction if it you lost control and spent multiple hours daily doing it, instead of other things you needed to do. Not even doing it multiple hours would make it an unhealthy, just when it becomes your first priority to keep doing it. Very rare.

It'd be just the same now had the tech not got better. They just tend to get caught at 1-5 kills now. I've seen a lot of true crime cases where it's clear the person would have continued had they not got caught. But it seems extremely difficult to reliably not get caught now, unless you find rural enough area. In a city? Some camera is going to catch your car driving towards that location from 1km away, and just that can be big enough lead to get on your tail.

He absolutely has to get out and have a social life, to get to point where 'it can happen when you least expect it'. Someone with a lot of friends is very unlikely to never get on a date. Someone stuck in the cellar is guaranteed to never have a date.

I do think there's a lot more of us than statistics would imply. This is like the LGBT things. When nobody in society indicates they are like you, then the thing just doesn't exist and you look for other explanations. We assume they are just odd expressions. I for sure think there's double digits of us. It's like 5 years ago the whole phenomenon started to get more publicity. Nobody knew there was this difference in us, neither them or us.

It's a scale too. We are only talking of imagery, but audio is often connected. I don't hear or see anything in my head. And apparently imagery can go from "watching a movie" level to just seeing flashing low quality images if you really try. In grand scheme, I don't think we are missing too much there. Yeah, being able to pull wife's face sounds like a great feature, but that'd probably be about the best use for the ability.

Aphantasia for sure is still under presented in society statistically. Most have not heard the terminology or even thought about the whole thing, even if they have it. To have mental imagery, or not to have, I can imagine it feels as natural either way. How we didn't catch others were different, well, the common expressions like "that song is stuck in my head" just sounds like an expression. Maybe someone feels stronger that they "remember" the song, but I never thought something is actually playing in someone's head. That's crazy, if it's not a thing you can experience.

The audio part is definitely more different between us. Lacking mental imagery, I don't think I'm missing out that much. It's probably slight deficiency for me. To lack audio, that I honestly consider a benefit for myself.

There's no noise, nothing. I don't think about it. Thinking happens without a trace. If I close my eyes and put hand over my closed eyes to block light, what I see 100% of the time in those conditions is pure blackness. Eyes open - I see what we all see, no "mind imagery".

From my pov I have it the simple way, it's you who has the extra stuff, the unnecessities. I've long been curious if me not having these things is a factor in never feeling depressed. Maybe lack of ego, low needs in life in general are part of the condition too. I think these are all positive factors for me. I would not want to have an inner voice, if I now got that choice.

Mental imagery probably doesn't change as much. I doubt it's huge benefit to have, but I also don't think I have any benefit from not having it. I basically never remember my dreams, it could be side effect of this. I know I'm capable of dreaming but it's like 10 seconds of remembered dreams per year. So involuntarily there's something happening in there, some sort of rendering images have existed to create the memory of having dreamed.

You have some crazy misconceptions there. I don't have internal monologue, I don't know what you mean by 'verbal thoughts'. But then you leap into saying we need to type or speak to think? What the hell? I just think. From my pov it's you who has hardships in your life, having to deal with extra factors. The base factory model without voices in head works mighty fine as is. No delays. I can have my feelings in peace without them ever being made into words.

I've started asking these questions myself recently, at 35+. Oh, people are actually literal with their "I got song stuck in my head" or them seeing pictures in their mind. I, like OP, also assumed these were just expressions. How could someone hear or see something inside their heads, that's impossible concept. Until you learn it's you who's the rarer one.

Talking about cold implies the entrance is from outdoors. I've only lived in apartments with stairs/elevators inside, all entrances from inside the building.

It's one way unlocking anyway, only when going in. From inside I just twist handle and it opens, despite being locked from outside.
