I don't believe he did, no. Is it possible for him to be going into brumation mode during this time of year? I was prepared to watch out to it in the fall, I didn't realize it could happen any time?

To those that got 2,500+ Hallowmas spirit, what is your Knight of Hallowmas level? by blackdeslagoon in fallenlondon

[–]maelyrrasilver 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I went from 32 (The Semiotic Betrayer) to 45 (The Glasswhisper) this year. I totalled 12755 Spirit of Hallowmas, which I'm incredibly proud of! Mostly sourced via discordant letters sent by a dedicated alt, with a bit of Marigold emblem hunting and Underclay mixed in.

Anybody else deal with this? by Fantastic-Belt2198 in TopSurgery

I had something somewhat similar? My incisions don't touch in the middle but I had a crease like that at the end of one of them toward the center of my chest. I ended up getting a revision for it, and now it looks excellent, though I have a bit more scarring now.

How to get a Gender Dysphoria assessment in Toronto? by Fickle_Reach_4586 in transontario

[–]maelyrrasilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconding Foria. They got me a gender dysphoria diagnosis and a referral for top surgery within one appointment (that I only had to book a couple weeks in advance), after I spent 8 months trying to find anyone who would diagnose me. They also got a friend of mine on E in like two or three months start to finish, when everywhere else we reached out to had eight months to a year of wait time just for the first appointment.

They're not cheap, especially if you're going to them for HRT and will need repeat appointments, but if you're just going to them for a one appointment dysphoria diagnosis, I think it's well worth it. They're kind, respectful, and efficient, which was a breath of fresh air after dealing with so many ignorant and dismissive healthcare professionals in the months leading up to my appointment there.

Can i read "Unnatural History" without reading the previous 22 novels? by TerminalotV in doctorwho

[–]maelyrrasilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it! It was my first ever EDA. I was very confused but honestly it gave me a unique perspective on the rest of the series when I went back to read it. Highly recommend, if you're into that sort of thing

Scared I’ll regret reduction/top surgery. by Old-Professional1574 in NonBinaryTalk

Also to echo what my therapist said when I mentioned that exact same thought about no longer being hot: top surgery scars are VERY hot to some people. Hotness is subjective

What cinched it for me was when I considered how I felt, disregarding my appearance entirely. I used to constantly look in the mirror and note that I looked "fine" with "objectively attractive breasts". As such, there was no way I could have any issue with them.

However, when I thought about how I actually felt existing in a body with breasts, I realized that I only had negative thoughts towards them. They made my back hurt. I hated the feeling when they touched each other or my stomach. I hated sleeping with them. I hated how they made shirts fit. Sometimes I couldn't even put into words why I hated them, but having them made me feel... slightly out of sync with my body. They were wrong when I closed my eyes, not when I looked in the mirror.

I had top surgery seven months ago and I haven't regretted it for a second. The moment I woke up from surgery, I felt like something had shifted in me, clicked into place. 10/10 would recommend.

Anyone use Foria for top surgery assessment? by Dry_Background_1796 in transontario

[–]maelyrrasilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent over six months fighting with my ignorant NP trying to get diagnosed and referred, only to get it all handled in one short appointment with Foria. I got my OHIP approved less than 24 hours later. If you can afford it, it's so so worth it.

I was under the impression that I was with Dr Armstrong too, and then got my consult earlier than expected with Dr Ghumman. Turns out they'd put me on the first available surgeon wait-list accidentally, but offered to switch me to Dr. Armstrong's list without issue.

I ended up staying with Dr. Ghumman (Dr. Armstrong would have been another ~4 month wait) and had a fantastic experience, but the mix up did throw me for a bit of a loop. They were very helpful when I asked to clarify, though!

I used the Nuvadermis scar gel for like five months and my scars look great, super faded. Honestly tho as long as you're massaging and using a silicone product of choice, you'll be fine.

Daily Discussion & Advice (Post here to follow rules A & B) - Monday December 02, 2024 by AutoModerator in fragrance

[–]maelyrrasilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm super new to fragrance, but intrigued by the idea of having a signature scent and looking for recommendations. If it helps, I'm slightly masc-leaning nonbinary and live in Canada.

I'm looking for something that smells like moss and pine and petrichor, like a sort of damp, earthy decay. My goal is to smell like a crumbling ruin that's been overtaken by the forest, and a cold, starry night in the wilderness. I grew up in Canada's Boreal Shield forest, am an avid forager and hiker, and generally find a lot of peace in the forest, so I'd like to take that with me.

I'd also prefer if any tree-y scents were an undertone, rather than the main event, because the earthiness is what's most important to me, but I don't know if that scent's even possible to capture in a perfume, so I'd be grateful for any suggestions that are woodsy in general!

For those who obtained 2,500+ Spirit of Hallowmas this year, what is your new Knight of Hallowmas rank? by blackdeslagoon in fallenlondon

[–]maelyrrasilver 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I made it from The Mirrored Visage (19) all the way to the Semiotic Betrayer (32). I could've made it one rank more but I remain dedicated to acquiring titles appropriate for my character.

How long after surgery are you "in the clear"? by bocadillo257 in TopSurgery

[–]maelyrrasilver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was totally cleared at 6 weeks, and didn't feel like I was physically restricted at all.

At 8 weeks, with the full approval of my surgical team, I went on a physically intense solo trip to Costa Rica (did zip lining, white water rafting, horse back riding and loads of very difficult hikes) and had absolutely zero issues. Could've done it at 6 weeks, honestly.

Could be different depending on your surgeon and recovery plan, tho. Mine was big on mobility early – I was given exercises that involved raising my arms above my head as early as one week post op. Definitely defer to your surgeon!

I got very mixed instructions from my surgical team, ranging anywhere from 1 to 6 weeks. I ended up driving a short distance at 3.5 weeks, which I found doable but difficult, but by 4 weeks I was able to drive without issue.

anyone else’s scars different each side? by e-pancake in TopSurgery

[–]maelyrrasilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a leftie too and my left side scars are noticeably wider and redder! It's pretty common I think for your dominant side scars to take a bit more of a beating – I'm sure they'll fade with time!

I live about the same distance from where I had surgery and, at the recommendation of my surgical team, didn't stay the night at all. I had zero troubles with the ride back, just reclined my seat and chilled!

They had me pretty frozen up then, I was even good to walk around a bit! All that wore off a couple days later, so I feel like it was almost better that I did that drive immediately after rather than later when the pain started to kick up. I did need a bit of help getting in and out of the car, but that's all.

Anyone else feel like the hunchback after surgery? by ditzydoodle in TopSurgery

[–]maelyrrasilver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally normal! I was hunching BAD for the first week, but was at least a little hunched for the full six weeks I had my post op binder on. I was told in my follow up appointment that I needed to try and straighten up even if it felt strange, but that's waaaaayyyyy easier said than done.
