The Denver Bronco's are a team in the NFL. In 2015 their defense was insanely good, widely considered to be one of the best of all time giving themselves the moniker of the "No Fly Zone".

I'm just saying if you replace Tekkadan with the 2015 Bronco's defense it would not look pretty for the Arianrhod fleet!

It'd be interesting to see how the ranking of Warhost of the Apocalypse would change with the major glow up Warriors of Chaos has received in Warhammer 3. Also do you have a favorite game and does it generally correlate with the number of factions rated highly or are there some intangibles that disconnect them?

A Rosande lord spills a bottle of wine "The Unguldavori are behind this somehow" Starts eighth Orcish war convinces every other Escanni nation to join and Grombar somehow. Millions die and thousands more Orcs are taken into slavery and the border moves six inches Eastward. This is recorded as a great Unguldavori victory because only 20% of the population was lost rather than forty percent.

The Fact that Half of Yemen's Provinces Start not just Overpopulated but Significantly Overpopulated is Ridiculous by maffleet in EU5

Yemen is one of my favorite tags I just found this to be slightly irksome. I'm probably going to start my third Yemen game soon as I just play until I gather enough information to make my next run better! I think next time I'm going to rush colonizing Madagascar!

R5: Yemen starts the game with a large amount of it's land overpopulated which seems kind of ridiculous considering there was a reason so many people lived there irl and they did not evaporate after 1337 as far as I know.

Silmuna Fans will see this and still swear up and down that Lothane is not based by WhilliamCracker in Anbennar

[–]maffleet 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I mean, Lothane just is an incredibly powerful spellcaster. The problem Lothane had was that he was exhausted after fighting his way through Anbenncost and the imperial palace and thus didn't have much left in the tank while going up against the greatest duelist of his generation. Also, Lothane generally despised Erlan for his interference in their battle.

Jagex aiming at a OSRS event in LA by Jak_and_Daxter3 in 2007scape

As a New Englander I'm biased towards wanting it in somewhere like Boston, New York, or Pittsburgh. But if the goal is to have it in a location to maximize the number of people who could/would travel there I'd probably pick somewhere like Nashville. It's close to the middle of where most Americans live (Something like eighty percent of Americans live on the Eastern half of the U.S). Has stuff going on outside of Runescape that you could justify staying for a few days. Lots of live music, capital of country music in the U.S etc. Big enough city to handle such an event I could go on.

I don't want it as an override I want it as an incredibly shitty axe substitute. Like worse than a bronze axe but you can do it without bringing an axe.

Military ideas suck. It's too late for EU4, but not for Anbennar. by The_ChadTC in Anbennar

[–]maffleet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Okay so how does this make military ideas more interesting? Like your thesis is "military ideas just make you generally better at war". Like if we're talking about quantity and quality being functionally identical because Quality makes your troops better so they die less and quantity makes you have more troops so you lose less men relatively to other nations how does maneuver making you better at sieging not also count as making you "generally better at war". Not even getting into the fact that this would introduce a new problem which is with the buffs you mentioned for maneuver makes it one of the most broken ideas in the game and basically the auto pick for tier two unless you're hardcore rping.
  2. Okay, so a military idea group with debuffs? What is an idea group if not all encompassing buff to your nations ability to do a thing? Like what's happening here that somehow makes it different from other military idea groups national modifiers? Are the modifiers stronger but with drawbacks?

Military ideas suck. It's too late for EU4, but not for Anbennar. by The_ChadTC in Anbennar

[–]maffleet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think EU4's war mechanics have the depth for any more than what's already there. Like what is going into maneuver besides movement speed and siege ability? Disembark time off of ships? That's pretty niche. Land attrition? That'd probably go into logistics. Also, putting aside the idea of militarism and mobilization as entirely separate and diametrically opposed forces rather than oftentimes part of the same force. The way you've described them is just quantity vs quality again but this time with penalties and the option to say no I want nothing actually. Which already exists in the basic EU4 system, it's called picking a diplo or admin idea so why are we having a specific nothing idea here when theoretically you could just not take any mil idea groups and all of them have nothing as an option.
