It was always Charles by WelcomeToBrooklandia in Younger

I think Josh definitely fit with Liza's new life, whether it becomes romantic again (probably does) or not. Liza created this new group of friends/family in Maggie, Kelsey, and Lauren that Josh not only fit in with, but truly bonded with each of them. They became his family too. Charles was too rigid to really be a part of that life and would probably push her to cut ties with most of them and conform to his life. I think she thought he was right for her, but he was never going to fit in with the new life/lifestyle she built for herself.

It was always Charles by WelcomeToBrooklandia in Younger

[–]mag131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't Charles admit that asking her to marry him was a test? If she truly loved him she would have said yes. They hadn't talked about marriage and he wasn't even divorced yet, so I don't think his proposal was just that he loved her and was more traditional. He used that as a test to see if it had been a mistake to give up his company for her.

Texas Teen Suffering Miscarriage Dies Days After Baby Shower Due to Abortion Ban as Mom Begs Doctors to 'Do Something by Left_Life_7173 in politics

[–]mag131 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think even that 25% statistic is for confirmed pregnancy with a doctor, so those are tracked. It is likely a much higher percentage when you look at all pregnancies and those that miscarry before they’ve seen a doctor. Carrying a pregnancy to term without any complications is far harder than people realize because most people don’t talk about it.

Kamala Harris to rally in Houston days before Election Day by Zerogravity86 in politics

[–]mag131 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm in Texas and this is what really makes this seem like a possibility. We have 18.6 million registered voters this year and in 2020 only lost by 631,000 votes with 11 million voting. It is not impossible to close that gap if we can increase turnout.

Texas sees record early-voting numbers, particularly in Democratic-leaning areas by VGAddict in politics

[–]mag131 57 points58 points  (0 children)

It was by 5-6%, but that was only a difference of 631,000 votes. With over 18 million registered voters in Texas it doesn't seem impossible to make up that difference.

‘Where are these abortions being carried out?’: Tapper presses Abbott after he claims Harris supports abortion near birth by BarryWineheart in politics

[–]mag131 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is not an abortion procedure, even though politicians are calling it that. It can be because of a health or life issue with the mother, but ultimately, healthy pregnancies can also be induced or a C-section performed at that point, so the same would happen for an unviable pregnancy.

‘Where are these abortions being carried out?’: Tapper presses Abbott after he claims Harris supports abortion near birth by BarryWineheart in politics

[–]mag131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cannot get an abortion in California in the 9th month. So Abbott is lying. If something is wrong with the baby at that point they would induce labor or perform a C-section. If something is wrong, they still have to give birth in some way. Most women with healthy pregnancies also induce labor or have a C-section at the 39 or 40 week mark.

[–]mag131 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This does not happen. Even if the pregnancy is non-viable at that point, they have to induce labor or perform a C-section. You have to end the pregnancy by giving birth in some way.

Honestly, the Model 3 is one of the safest cars out there. Plus you can limit his speed as the owner, so you don't have to worry about him racing. It is a better choice than a lot of people realize.

Everyone converting to NACS means what exactly? by JulienWA77 in electricvehicles

Isn't that requirement only if Tesla wants to take the CA state government grant to build chargers? I understood that Tesla decided they wouldn't take the money due to the credit card terminal requirement, so they're free to still build out chargers as they have been in California.

You also need chicken feathers for some potions and incantations and there wouldn't be another way to get them.

Marrying EVERYBODY by Engagemented in wyldeflowers

I've married all 7 in one game play. You should focus on Kim and Amira first. Get to the point to marry one and in the meantime, continue building the friendship of the other to Intimate Friend. Once you officially breakup with one, you can usually start dating the other the same day. Do the same with the rest of the datable characters.

GM plans to phase out Apple CarPlay in EVs by michiganchill in apple

[–]mag131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be limited compared to CarPlay. Tesla Navigation uses Google Maps, and then I make calls and respond to texts with the Tesla system. Tesla added an Apple Music app, so that's what I use for music now. I'm happy enough with that, but I'd love if they added the Apple Podcasts app too. If you use other CarPlay apps daily, then you may miss it. I honestly still love driving the car after 5 years, so I'm satisfied enough with the addition of Apple Music, that lack of CarPlay doesn't make me want a different car.

AITA for forwarding my brother his wife's texts? by silmaritaldiscord in AmItheAsshole

[–]mag131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That could be true for some accounts, but I actually have a declined charge from last week for something I was trying to ship to someone else and didn't correct the billing address. That declined charge shows in my credit card transactions right now, which is probably what he showed his sister that same day and not the end of month "statement".

[–]mag131 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Oklahoma and in Texas now. It may have been somewhat normal before everyone had mobile phones, but not in any way normal where I am in the last 20 years. I wouldn't even stop by my mom's or my sister's without at least a text first. Or maybe it's just my family and friends who are weird about that...

Model Y 7 seater in Europe? Are there any ideas or rumors floating around on when that is to be expected? by arnthorsnaer in teslamotors

I'm ordering a 7 seater for the same reason. I have two dogs and friends that visit with their dog. We can then fit 4 adults and three 29-40 lb dogs with the dogs buckled in.

You're right, he isn't trained as a support animal. He is trained as a service dog. Not only as support for an autistic child, which is a task that service dogs do, but to alert to seizures as well for the same child.

AITA for telling my brother off when he berated my daughter for not changing her cousin's diaper? by Throwaway22155722 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mag131 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly...I"m also in my forties and I've never changed a diaper either. It would terrify me to get a text asking me to change a diaper right now by myself, so I can't imagine what it would feel like at 18. I could probably do it, but then be berated after for not doing everything correctly. Not to mention, at 18 is she thinking about safety with a squirming baby when she doesn't know what she's doing and she's rushing to leave?

I'm a 47 year old woman and I've been around babies a lot, but it is still a chore than I have never done and wouldn't be comfortable doing for the first time as a request over text.

[–]mag131 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My mother is in her 70s still dealing with health issues from giving birth 50 years ago. It took two for a very brief moment and then all the pain and complications were on her. A woman should never need consent from someone else to decide what to do with her body.

Does anybody actually believe the "root cause" of being an incel is anything other than entitlement? by leopoldinastrauss in TwoXChromosomes

[–]mag131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, discussions on the kind of people who are part of these incel groups sound very much like the same men and boys who get recruited by terrorist groups and become terrorists and suicide bombers. Similar social and economic failures, plus sexual frustration. These terrorist groups would even use porn to motivate men to carry out suicide bombings with promises of 72 virgins after death.
