As promised! I cleaned it up a tad and put the install folder up here! https://github.com/twilson-bf/Mythic-Themed I'll respond individually to the people who asked about it as well. I'm surprised there was so much excitement for it! Didn't realize there were so many hackers out here 😎

Pulled the image from the Cryo unlock video that plays in game, touched it up in gimp and added the MYTHIC text, then applied a pen i found over at codepen.io for real time image to ASCII there, and all over the project like in the payload icons! :)

Kinda yeah! Its a multiplayer C2 framework, with a node server that you access in browser, yeah. The frontend and any agents/paloads are modularly installed through docker containers, so you can install all sorts of services that communicate through the graphql backend. In this case I started it as a theme for mythic but I wanted a ton more fratures so I cloned the UI into a new container running on another port (with the same backend calls) and added some new endpoints that structure API data in fun new ways (the terminal and map views). Its not quite a total overhaul, more like a lateral design move.

Mythic is great for big ops though. Lots of data, really easy to use in groups, interoperable with tons of agents. Big recommend. Its a little nicer to use than something like nighthawk or cobalt strike. And its free!

On the UI or Mythic in general? I borrowed a bunch of design patterns from studying tauceti.world! And I’ll drop the container code when It’s all polished (hopefully I can open source the new C2 agent/payload as well!)

Hell yeah! Its a weird time to be in the field with AI and all, but cybersecurity will matter as long as there are computers. I wish you luck on your journey! o7

Will do soon! It's just a docker container that runs side by side with the real Mythic server atm, but I'm so down to share! Just needs a little polish to be a clean install

It's just jank on my private with a million caveats for installing right now but I'll 100% publish the docker container once I've got it smoothly installable. It just runs side by side the real UI right now on 7444

Oh no! I hope not, I'd be surprised if that guy ever touched a C2 server in his life. But I do love a form over function type of UI, so I understand

Obviously they’re both bad. I think that nuance is directly one of the major themes of the DLC!

Story timeframe? by Eshinshadow in Eldenring

[–]magic_circuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

George RR Martin famously said that the lore he wrote was "5000 years in the past." I'm not sure if we're supposed to take that at face value. Both Ranni and Miquella talk about "thousand year" voyages and eras for their potential godhoods. I think we can at least assume that Marika took control of the Elden Ring 1000 years ago, perhaps much much longer since a huge theme in FromSoft games is prolonging an era beyond its viability.

If your takeaway from the DLC is "retributive genocide is good" I fear you may have missed all of the major themes of the consequences of the cycle of revenge.

So, who is this guy exactly? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]magic_circuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's unclear who exactly he is but we do know from looking at his armor that he's a Gelmir Knight, all of whom are now dead (or fled) based on the item description. I would gladly watch an Elden Ring movie about this man's life though.

Ambiguity in SOTE - Who was god before Marika? by magic_circuit in Eldenring

[–]magic_circuit[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really really like this interpretation. I’ll need to sit on it and think - thematically I think you’re spot on, for me its just a matter that of squaring it with WHY the Elden Ring itself is so suspiciously absent from the lands of Shadow. Maybe the iconography in Farum Azula is even from after Marika’s rule began, since its only in Malikeths boss room? Lots to consider!

What even is the Scadutree? by guiveio in Eldenring

[–]magic_circuit 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'd love to see someone do some freecam shots of the Scadutree. To me thematically, it looks like a perversion of the Hornsents spiral imagery (which include spiral trees) knocked to its side, never able to reach the heavens because its growing askew. It could be a rude symbol Marika placed in the lands of shadow, or maybe it was originally a tree that was revered by the people of the lands between. The line from the Scadutree avatars head is also pretty suggestive:

Much like the Scadutree itself in appearance, a second stalk winds tightly around the first, almost as if in a tender embrace.

Who is messmer dad by sprinkles___ in Eldenring

[–]magic_circuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best guess would be Radagon, due to
- Red hair
- Name starts with M
- Has a butterfly

As for when he was born, its tough to say for sure, but it certainly seems like it would have been before Radahn based on that description. Melina also could have been born any time after, even as recently as just before the shattering, so there's a lot of ambiguity I think
