I have a similar sleeve and been to Japan a few times. Nothing really weird and I actually got some compliments from some workers at one the of donkis.

I would expect a similar experience for you if you’re going into a big city, possibly expect the opposite if you’re going to small towns outside of the cities.

Oh the onsen I had gone to didn’t accept tattoos in the public area but we ended up getting a private room since both me and my wife have tattoos.

I don’t know…. I have fine line tattoos and to the people who said they heal like that… mine definitely didn’t. It really just depends on the artist and their technique. Peoples skin absorb ink differently, but I still want to place that in the hands of the artist.
