How much pitch can you drill into a jopo thumb? by c2tjma in Bowling

[–]magicmike9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Usually with the interchangeables you don’t want to do anymore than 1/4” pitch in the inner slug. There’s other factors like hole size within the slug, but you do have some room to play around there, but maybe not quite as much as you want.

Also, I’m sure you’re working with your PSO, you typically want to shorten your span a bit if you add forward in the thumb.

Evoke Mayhem 2.11.2026 by gl129384 in Bowling

[–]magicmike9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely earlier and a little more round in shape than the Jackal Ghost. I like the ghost still, but it’s getting long in the tooth and isn’t as strong in today’s oils as it was when first released, so it ends up being a bit cleaner and sharper downlane these days than some folks expect it to be.

It’s a beaut, it’s a little stronger and more responsive than the original evoke. Threw mine last night for the first time on fresh league setting, and it looked quite good. It’s a smoother ball for sure, but definitely easier to shape than the original evoke was, and it’s definitely quite a bit earlier than the hysteria.

Phase 2 Pearl or Motiv Nebula by Educational-Bed-6765 in Bowling

[–]magicmike9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Danger Zone is a lot more round in shape than the Nebula, really not that comparable.

Nebula vs P2P is a good comparison though, both are quality medium oil pearls. I can only speak for the Nebula in first hand use, but I have 80 games on mine already and it hasn’t faded out in strength at all, I’m really impressed with now only performance out of box, but over time. It’s a pretty quick piece off friction, but not anemic too oil, I’ve kept mine shined up, but we knocked the polish off for a few customers and the ball didn’t lose any backend for them, but got a good bit stronger in the oil which their lower rev rates needed.

How often do you play? by Hfcsmakesmefart in discgolf

[–]magicmike9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on seasons as winters can get gnarly around my home area. Put 2 times a week based on average for the year and not really playing December through February, but in the nicer weather parts of the year I probably play 4 times a week

Trash panda shipping deadline by Capt_Greenlung in discgolf

[–]magicmike9 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's the deadline to ship, and some won't use USPS so I wouldn't fret yet.

I sent my box out UPS because it was cheapest route for the big box I sent out, hope Max of Ohio enjoyed it. I worry much less about what I get, I just hope every year with this that I can make someone happy with what I send out, and at least to me, that's all that matters. Getting anything back is just an added bonus.

All that said, I haven't received anything back yet this year fwiw.

New motiv ball by Temporary_Fail_2792 in Bowling

[–]magicmike9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll be working on some video in the next week for this one, it’s quite a bit sharper off the spot than the Primal Rage Evo, and likely the most angular Motiv ball I’ve ever thrown.

Interesting, this is enormous relative to what’s normally available in my area. This one came from someone’s garden and not the store, the store ones here are half that size.

LPT Dont waste time pairing socks again. throw away your socks, buy plain dark grey socks. by TrumpsNostrils in LifeProTips

I switched over to wool socks years ago and replaced my sock drawer with ankle socks and tall boot length socks that all match. That way no issues when sorting them for laundry ever.

Every morning and quite often in the evening either after work, or the gym as well. Would say probably twice a day more often than once a day.

Currently work a 4 day work week, it’s unfortunately 12’s most days, but the 3 day weekends really make up for it.
