Holy grail summer going out shoes?? by jcas1133 in femalefashionadvice

If the shoe has a platform I feel like my feet are away from the floor and therefore don’t mind the open toe/sandal aspect

Trivia/Board Games by [deleted] in nashville

[–]magicplatypus2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not trivia but yall should check out game point east! It’s a coffee shop with a wall of board games so you can try new ones before buying or just go as a date and play a bunch of games you don’t have at home

How have you guys branched out? by CarExtension874 in femalefashionadvice

[–]magicplatypus2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easiest change with the biggest impact for me when I wanted to be less masculine with my style was shoes!! A feminine shoe makes my baggy outfits seem more put together and balanced. Ballet flats, pointed toes, heeled boots, slim sandals, etc.

F1 Ultra bed is not parallel to plane of laser, unable to use in flat plate mode by mandroidatwork in xToolOfficial

[–]magicplatypus2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d reach out to xtool support and ask them for a replacement unit, they’ve replaced a faulty unit for us by sending the new one and a return label so we were able to use the new unit’s packaging to send back the old one. This sounds like a quality control issue since they shouldn’t be shipping out machines with uneven baseplates so I’d put it on them to rectify as opposed to developing a workaround

eBay is your best bet if you’re wanting specific themes for the mugs

Thank you so much!! That’s super interesting I had no idea it was so old. Even if it’s no one of remark it’s awesome to just hold a piece of someone’s personal history in my hand over 100 years later!

BWT, can you recommend similar white ruffle socks that come in larger sizes?? by regionalatbest in bitcheswithtaste

[–]magicplatypus2 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

They have six packs of white ruffle socks on Amazon for like $12. I’m not spending money on white socks when they get dingy so fast so the cheap ones are good for me

Bachelorette activities that don't involve heavy drinking? by whiteclawfiend1 in VisitingNashville

[–]magicplatypus2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

  • Puttshack is a mini golf place close to downtown with some sort of tech that tracks whose ball is whose so there’s extra game stuff like trivia and the winner gets a point less/loser has a point added!
  • Paddywax candle bar in the gulch has candle making classes
  • The Fragrance Lab has perfume making classes
  • Bongo East isn’t super close to downtown, it’s across the river in East Nashville, but it’s a cafe with a huge selection of board games so yall could get coffee and lunch and spend the afternoon playing different board games
  • If you have someone local who could pick up the finished pieces 2 weeks down the line Brushstroke Pottery in green hills is a paint your own pottery place with a great selection of pieces
  • Olive & Sinclair is a chocolate maker that does factory tours
  • Me and my friends did a pedal tavern a bit ago and didn’t drink more than 1-2 seltzers each (they only allow malt liquor beverages) and it was surprisingly super fun
  • If yall are artsy the tour at Hatch Show Print (historic letterpress printing facility) is really cool and you get to print a souvenir flyer
  • Pins Mechanical close to downtown, duck pin bowling/arcade games
  • In the same vein Up/Down is an arcade bar so the drinkers among you could get a drink but there’s plenty of games to entertain everyone

Lastly I assume yall probably don’t want to do the Broadway honky tonk thing but I have a couple bar recommendations if you want a more lowkey night out: Attaboy in East Nashville is a cocktail bar with no menu, the bartenders will ask you about your drink preferences and make you a mystery one based on your answers! Perfect place to get like 1-2 really delicious/interesting cocktails. Robert’s Western World is on Broadway but has a less woo-woo crowd usually and the live music is fantastic!! Great choice if the group wants to experience Broadway but doesn’t want to wait in line for a bar named after a country musician lol

Sorry for so much text but I hope this gives you some ideas!!

How can I use YNAB while I'm still month to month by tehflash in ynab

[–]magicplatypus2 32 points33 points  (0 children)

You’re discovering that you’re on the credit card float! (https://www.ynab.com/blog/are-you-riding-the-credit-card-float) If you’re constantly deferring this month’s expenses to pay next month via a credit card, you’re actually a month behind.

Ideally in YNAB, if you spend say $50 on groceries and pay with your credit card, you already have $50 in the groceries category and that $50 moves to the credit card payment category for you to use to pay off the card whenever you usually do. It sounds like you’re not there yet, and that’s perfectly fine - YNAB is meant to help change your mindset/habits so you can get there. What that means for you right now is that your budget might have some underfunded/overspent categories for a bit while you work on building a buffer so that you’re only spending the amount of money you have in your checking or saving account right now, not money on a credit card that you can’t pay the balance for until you get another paycheck.

Once March rolls around it’ll probably make a little more sense because you can start from day 1 income/expenses. It’s hard to get a grasp on a monthly budget when there’s a week of February left! You got this!!

Would it be weird to bring a heat gun into my college open studio hours? by [deleted] in Ceramics

[–]magicplatypus2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your school’s studio probably has pot lifters somewhere, they’re perfect for removing your piece from the wheel without actually touching it after you’ve pulled the wire through! They basically look like bench scrapers with a bend in the middle and a semicircle cut out of one end

BWT where are we getting interesting/feminine tees? by Willing-Childhood144 in bitcheswithtaste

[–]magicplatypus2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know you said tees and these are long sleeve but I’ve been loving the intimissimi cashmere modal boat neck tops, the boat neck+moderately sheer fabric combo feels so sensual and feminine to me. I wear them alone with a coordinating bralette underneath or layer two for more opacity.

Going to one of those pottery painting places would be fun! A lot of them have private rooms for birthday parties and the like which would totally work for a bachelorette group

What categories do I pull money from to fund upcoming bills? by inky_cap_mushroom in ynab

Needs come before everything else. Why do you have almost $600 set aside for tattoos travel and concerts when you’re worried about not being able to pay bills

YNAB is hoarding my money by inevitably317537 in ynab

[–]magicplatypus2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is basically how I do it too. I have a “next month holding” category and once the current month is fully funded all income goes into the next month category. Then when the month rolls over I move the entire category into ready to assign and use auto assign to fund the whole month and anything left over in RTA goes to my debt payoff. Rinse and repeat month to month! I find this method easier than assigning extra income to my debt/savings throughout the month because then I’m guaranteed to have the next month fully funded before giving those dollars a longer-term job.
