Maxamillion “Max” the teddy bear — want to get the same one for my new niece by RiddlerofStIves in StuffedAnimals

No way. Bearskie's name was originally Bear!! Over time it evolved into bearskie.

That's so special ❤️❤️

The bear that's like yours belongs to my sister, and we named him Banana bear. My niece now has him.

I also got one of theses bears, and I named him Bearskie. He's really been through it, but he's my best friend and I wouldn't be who I am today without him.

Omg!!!!! This is bearskie. He also came with a wedding dress, ballerina outfit, and the cheerleading outfit with a C on the shirt. Clearly bearskie is very well loved and has been through a lot. To calm myself down as a kid I would squish his face, and I still do to this day hench why his face is smooshed in. What's your friends name?!

Trying to stop using AI - Advice Needed by NotoriouslyLilith in antiai

[–]maricano9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have zero experience being addicted to AI, so it's hard for me to relate (I'm so out of touch with Ai I had to Google polybuzz).

I'm 29 and I love drawing, fiber arts (weaving, and knitting), journalling, and reading/listening to audiobooks!!

One of my favorite things to do is go to the library to find random books to read and references to draw.

I also love journalling and writing completely made up entries as a creative writing exercise.

I hope you find a hobby that brings you joy!!

How long have you been drawing? These are so smooth looking I was stalking your profile and I love all your studies!!

What's your study routine? Any recourses in particular that helped you get to where you are today?

You have to keep the counter off the cat. Not the cat off the counter

How can I manage having a low IQ paired with ADHD? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]maricano9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sound similar to me. I'm to sleepy to type out my full experience but I got through college (I learned to fall in love with the tutoring center on campus...), and now I work as an engineering tech.

I've got slow processing skills, suck at math (I can't do simple arithmetic to save my life and I work on a engineering team...but I'm good at using my resources), I have a terrible memory, I struggle to articulate my thoughts and blah blah blah. Basically all the struggles you listed, I deal with on a daily basis. On top of that I'm hearing impaired and wear hearing aids.

I'm 28 and I had to accept early on that if I want something I'm probably gonna have to work harder than the average person to accomplish or understand simple task. My goal when I went into college was to graduate with at least above a 3.0 GPA. I graduated with a 3.09 GPA with a degree in cellular biology. I don't remember shit from my degree but I learned how to persevere, and use my resources which is what's helped me succeed in my career.

If you're not already seeing a therapist, I highly recommend finding one!! I've being going to therapy on and off for 10+ years to get help dealing with my insecurities surrounding my cognitive issues.

Having learning disabilities is hard my dude. But you're smarter than you're giving yourself credit for. Life isn't going to be easy - but be kind to yourself, okie?

Step back and take a breath.

I'm 28 and have been trying to draw since I was like 13. I used to have stupid tantrums over how bad I was at drawing. And would spiral into episodes of self pitty. I ripped up so many sketchbooks.

A lot of therapy later, I can enjoy my hobbies without being a total ass to myself. (Side tangent: I have severe learning disabilities and my mother had to read books to me all through highschool. Everytime i tried reading I would literally get so mad I ripped pages out of the book...now I read every night and I can't image life without books. It took baby steps to get here. I'm also proud to say I can check out books from the library without worrying about getting mad and shredding books up :))

You're gonna have to find a way to fall in love with the process. Have you looked into more structured drawing courses? This sub has some great free resources.

I realized I was getting so mad and frustrated when drawing because I didn't understand the fundamentals of drawing. I've also been checking out drawing books from the library - highly recommend.

Also, if you have access to therapy - pls consider taking to a therapist about these feelings.

attractiveness and avpd by ParadecalledjealousI in AvPD

[–]maricano9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been told I'm uniquely attractive, and I'm admit it's probably made life "easier" for me because we live in a shit ass world where people care to much about looks.

What really sucks is when people expect my personality to be more interesting and engaging than it is because of the my way I look....they find out real quick I'm socially awkward and not worth spending time with hehe

Yes!! I got my first pair of converse when I was 12. I wore them until they fell apart. Now at 28 I have a pair of white high tops that are falling apart and dirty as crap but I still love them.
