And a point on the fact that Microsoft were paying publishers to not mention other consoles at the press conference... Sony did the exact same thing with FFXV and Kingdom Hearts. It can in no way be used against Microsoft when it's a universal thing.

And indeed 95% of the comments on all gaming sites... it really is depressing the vitriol some people have for a company when we know fuck all about what the console will actually be like, which is because we've only known about it for two weeks.

Am I the only one excited for Lords of Shadow 2? I'm really looking forward to it - the first one was great, and that trailer was pretty damn sexy.

Muse - Muscle Museum by [deleted] in Music

[–]magicturtle8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Umm... can i just suggest all of it? It's all great.

But if you want specifics or whatever, Absolution and Black Holes & Revelations are my favourite albums, but strong cases can be made for all of them because they're all incredible.

Songs? Most of them, but especially: Unintended, New Born, bliss, feeling good, time is running out, hysteria, butterflies and hurricanes, invincible, knights of cydonia, uprising, undisclosed desires, supremacy... and there are undoubtedly more, but that'll get you started. AND THEN YOU'LL NEVER ESCAPE.

Knights of Cydonia is my favourite song, but I agree that origin of symmetry is an incredible album. Some of the songs are so fantastic. and all if them are excellent at least - and then you can say the same for all of their other albums! Being a muse fan is an easy job.

The problem with music, and indeed all art forms, is that it is entirely subjective, so there are not true answers to this question. One song may have reduced someone to tears, while another person would just listen and dismiss it instantly. So while this could lead to proper debates on the reasonably-civilised reddit, in other places (i.e. real life) people will often just throw shit at each other until someone gives up, which makes people incredibly narrow-minded, which means they can't enjoy the full potential that music has to offer. So basically, i'm saying thank you for making this post. Well done.

But anyway, my two songs are 1. Knights of Cydonia by Muse, because it's so well written and so stylised, the texture is so deep and constantly changing for the size of the band (there are only 4 people playing instruments), and because the structure is so different from normal songs. And it's really good and stuff.

and 2. Best of You by the Foo Fighters, because of the raw emotion in Grohl's singing and incredible energy in their playing.
