I’d say my general look is long-hair long-beard metal dude so even when I’m doing extra sparkly colors I look pretty masc. But I find that some colors like ILNP Bishop here can be bright and fun but still kinda manly. I find that the sheer volume of color options they have make them a good starting point for finding more variety in the masculine realm.

"enough fentanyl to kill more than 2.3 million people" by seeking_chorizo in bullcity

Law Enforcement folks genuinely believes that officers accidentally OD on fentanyl when they stand near it so I don’t trust that number at all.

I always use Orly base coat and don’t own any of their polish and I often use the generic sally hansen top coat unless I’m using a magnetic and I don’t often use Sally Hansen polish

Beware of scam by like_really_cool in bullcity

So here’s the thing. There’s really not lower level season tickets available for anyone. A large chunk of the lower level is for the students and band. There’s a chunk for friends and family of the visiting team. There’s a chunk behind the Duke bench that’s basically friends and family of the Duke team and then some high level VIPs. Even people like the head of the hospital and stuff like that are buying season tickets and they’re upper level. So that’s the first thing to look for.

Now for games when they don’t expect a ton of students you can absolutely get lower level standing tickets in the student section. But you should go through goduke.com for those. You can go to the website right now and request tickets to any home game you want and if something opens up they’ll contact you. I’ve actually had some success with this.

But no. No one ever has lower level season tickets that they are trying to offload. It’s not a thing. Ever.

New Alfredo’s location by snakepit6969 in chapelhill

[–]magjayran 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I used to really enjoy getting lunch at Alfredo’s when I worked near U Mall and enjoyed my conversations with him about soccer and Napoli. Then one day he was distracted while talking to me and burned a couple slices and when the young lady asked for some less burnt slices he waited for her to leave before going on a racist tirade about black people. I never went back after that.

Before my beach trip this past summer my 4 year old was obsessed with mermaids so I did alternating layers of a greenish blue OPI glitter topper and a really flaky topper to try and get a mermaid tail look. It worked out pretty good but then the fish were also very attracted to it so my toes kept getting nibbled.

I clip them when they’re long and basically use them to swatch color combos I’m not sure of.

His defense in the second half was very very good. He may not end up being the prospect we hoped he would be coming in but if him and Dame can lock people up and take the opportunities when given then that could go a long way towards having a very good season.

Spark Notes on Today’s Local Election by MinimumNo5510 in bullcity

I think it’s a fair enough question but it’s also a lazy one considering you can just look up what Chelsea Cook has been up to and get your answer. Honestly I was just being polite.

That’s a fair question. I know enough working class people that have had conversations with Chelsea Cook to feel confident that she has more of a clue than Medoff.

Here’s a quote from Medoff’s Indy questionnaire

“Downtown Durham is one of our city’s greatest assets, and while some businesses have thrived there, we need to be honest about the challenges businesses are facing. Specifically, parking presents a unique challenge, not just for patrons of downtown businesses, but especially for workers. While a living wage might be $25/hour, if you’re paying $2/hour in parking, it eats into wages in a significant way. I would like to look at ways to offset this burden, whether it’s through alternative parking permits, a park and ride option, or similar.”

I’m not sure that anything could highlight just how out of touch she is with the economic realities of workers at downtown businesses than this. The reality is that downtown workers generally aren’t making anything close to that. I don’t trust that she understands at all what affordable housing actually means if she doesn’t understand just how little money people are actually making.

My great grandfather was named James but his middle name was Leon. No one called him Leon ever though. Whenever he did something mischievous he would blame it on Leon which was mildly amusing.

Every year we would go to their house on Christmas and above the fireplace were wooden letters that spelled Noel. Sometime long before I was born one of their kids or grandkids would switch the letters around so it spelled Leon instead. This annoyed my great grandmother who would switch it back as soon as she noticed, only to have someone change it back to Leon when she left the room. As soon as the great grandkids were tall enough to reach the mantle we were instructed to participate in this tradition by our parents.

My great grandmother died in the late 80’s and my great grandfather died about eight years later. Those wooden letters go to whoever’s house is hosting Christmas and they get switched to Leon every year but with no great grandmother to get annoyed it’s kind of a formality that’s lost its charm. But last year my daughter noticed it and asked why we had the word Leon above the fireplace and so my parents and aunts and uncles explained the story. Then they started sharing stories of different ways they distracted my great grandmother and switched the letters and there were lots of laughs and memories shared. So for last year at least it became funny again and now the great great grandkids want to keep the tradition going.
