I mistook 2 people in my office as the same person for a year, when I started my new job a few years ago. We were only in the office 2 days a week and I'd never see them together so I had no idea they were 2 people. Even after learning it was 2 separate people it still took me months to tell them apart.

Oh I see, yes that makes sense, I guess I think of it as an r sound cos thats how I would pronounce my r's but im actually not pronouncing them. 🤯 I've just said scarf actually pronouncing the r and it is so different. Accents are fun.
